I'm glad I ordered 20" wheels. The contrast stitching looks good on those seats.
That steering wheel looks familiar. Now I remember, it looks like the one in my wife's $10,000 Honda Civic. |

The question on everyone's minds is, how do you like it? The sport wheel is supposed to have gotten thicker and wrapped with the same leather. Many of us are hoping it at least feels more like the M-sport, even if it doesn't have the logo on it or three spokes.
As a side note, Motortrend was complaining that the M sport wheel has gotten SO thick on the M40i they tested that it felt like driving with boxing gloves. Maybe some people just don't like thick wheels but it does make me wonder both the sport and M sport have changed in size/feel. |

The steering wheel was truly my only complaint about the 981,and it is one of my favorite things on the F80. It matters more than I would have originally thought. Just my $.02.....

20s and a slight drop, unless you plan to do any off-roading.

There is a known shortage of the M nappa wheels accross all BMW current lineup, in europe my friend ordered an non sport with m wheel and it was produced without, no choice (he paid for it on the order).

Sucks to suck. Don't advertise the better wheel if you can't supply it. Put it on the vendors not the (potential)customers.

M40i should come with a more sportier steering wheel, and not the same steering wheel as 30i

This whole bulbous front and rear design language isn't working for me. It's disjointed and is now permeating the entire X lineup. I prefer the crisp sharp lines of the F25 and other models. Unfortunately the bug eyed thing will filter to everything soon enough. Yawn.

It's correct. I was told by a BMW rep there was some problem with the magnesium in one of the parts they use, causing production shortages. They're either going to have to redesign or re-source materials in order to get production going again, might take awhile. In the meantime, lower volume markets are still getting the wheel.
