If your car is due in at Southampton on 24th November, you'll have it about 2 weeks later.
That’s what I was thinking, I think they are quoting end of Dec as their current visibility probably just says ‘December’..... Would be nice to have it before Christmas 🎁

Just checked on mine and it's now w/c 30th December which will be a real pain, given the supplying dealer is near the office rather than home!!

Fingers crossed it is just the result of a cautious approach by BMW so as not to over-promise and then suffer delays. Will be onto my dealer the moment the boat docks in Southampton!

And just seen another post that's reminded me the 2.9% deal is based on a delivered vehicle by 31st December. Seems crazy that I ordered two weeks before the deal started, got allocated to it (phew!) but am at risk of missing the end date!

I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm almost certain that it'll be delivered before 31st December and even if it isn't there's always 'something' they can do with the finance.

True. Hopefully it'll be like others have experienced and it jumps forward a few weeks.

Looking like new year delivery folks 😔
Grand Aurora still in Vigo and the schedule (https://www.nmtshipping.com/sailing-...ling-schedule/) has been updated to show arrival in Southampton on 26th November (two days later than expected).

The really frustrating thing when tracking the ship is that it's been shadowing the Passero which is the boat I thought my car would be on. They were even moored next to each other in Vigo for a while! Passero is now heading off straight to Southampton, whilst mine has to go via Zeebrugge.

I’ve been watching it just sat in Vigo, I think the crew must be having the weekend off? I want my car 😢

GA is on it's way ……. to Emden, docking on 18/11. Then I guess Bremerhaven on 19/20th, where it should have been on 16/11! Southampton 26/11 sounds about right. Even then, doesn't really explain a late Dec/ early Jan delivery. My dealer is still expecting week 50 delivery when system is saying week 2/20.

Hope so, it's meant to be run in taking me to Austria in week 51.

Interesting thing dealer told me was that all UK cars go from port to BMW Group UK's Vehicle Distribution Centre at Thorne (Doncaster) for PDI/prep before going into dealer network. Prob's why it takes so long to get a car even when you live in Southampton! Luckily only 30 miles away for me.

You can request to the dealer to have the car PDI done at their premises. I had this done, so my car wouldn't need to go through the PDI process in port.

Once the car arrives in Southampton, it takes usually a week to clear customs at which point it can be released to the dealer.

Doing it this way, meant my dealer in Heathrow was able to have it to his dealership in around 2 days and into my arms within 5 days of leaving the port.

No harm in asking as it saved me a chunk of time and got my hands on it quicker, which I have to say is quite simply the nicest car I've ever owned!

Bit of background, I ordered an X3 M40i (every option for September builds, including 21'' wheels but not the tow bar & Apple CarPlay) on 6th August securing a significant discount through Carwow. It left the factory in Spartanburg, USA on 14th September and arrived in Southampton, UK last week after what seemed like an age in Bremerhaven, Germany.

The delay means that owing to a business trip, I will not now be able to pick up until w/c 11th November, after which it will be going to the detailers for Gtechniq ceramic coating, wheel protection and Alloygators.

The dealership I have dealt with (with whom I have no previous relationship) has been pretty good and I had a long conversation covering various points on Friday, as with all the recent option changes, I really did not know what was coming with the car or not (fully digital display, display key etc.) The best parts of that chat were securing the lower 2.9% APR (no quibble, just cancel & re-order the same vehicle which just so happens to be sitting at the docks) and full tank of fuel on collection. Not so good was the confirmation - as I've also heard from several sources - that the car is coming with 354 hp (348 bhp) which would translate to 260 kW. This whole different power output saga is a sorry state of affairs and seems to emanate from the emissions scandal and subsequent EU crackdown. Ultimately, the European consumer appears to be the loser given the 285 kW variation now offered elsewhere.

Lastly, a few extras are being ordered. From the dealer: all-weather mats and M Performance key fob cover. From 3rd parties: boot liner (CarBox) and faraday cases for the comfort access keys (Disklabs Key Shield).

Look forward to providing an update after eventual pick-up next month and getting some decent miles under the tyres.
UPDATE: I picked up my car last week and had it detailed by a local company, involving full de-badging (back & sides) and Gtechniq ceramic coating the bodywork, wheels, brake calipers as well as treating the leather interior. The results are stunning (see photos), especially when you consider the atrocious PDI process the car had undergone at the dealership. After requesting several times that it not be washed, it was of course washed on collection day prior to my arrival and the detailer advised it was one of the worst 'brand new' cars he'd ever dealt with - swirl marks and even scratches! I believe "washed with bricks" was the term he used. Needless to say this is being reported back to the dealership and BMW.

Now this has all been rectified I've settled into discovering this awesome machine. It is almost winter ready with all-weather floor mats and a non-OEM boot liner. Winter wheels and tyres will be arriving in the next few weeks - not very wintry at the moment here in SE England. I'm also fitting a RaceChip GTS Black (+54hp and +100Nm) which will be activated once the running in period is concluded. Only one minor gripe at present (aside from not being able to redline it), is the lack of the additional 12V socket in the passenger footwell that my 430i Convertible had and proved very useful for dashcam installation.

Looks fantastic Spoolfinger. How did you find WF? And tell us more about that RaceChip GTS Black... that has certainly tweaked my interest. I'm only on about 580 miles so some running in still to go but another 100Nm sounds fun (along with the extra 54hp). Can't believe how that Carbon Black looks almost dark blue in some of those images !

About time I posted some pic's of mine I guess

Here we are, some pic's from when I collected it after being detailed - Kamikaze Enrei (2-stage) by Ultimate Finish in Brands Hatch, together with Alloys, Leather, Fabric & Carpets and Glass treatments. Only thought to takes pictures once outside, fortunately the detailers had taken some of their own that they happily shared with me. Lighting outside was a bit drab that day!

Looking good Mike. Already done 1550 miles in mine and loving every minute. I've even started to give it a bit of throttle to see if the oomph comes on... and by jove it certainly does. This thing just keeps on going and it's hungry for the revs!

What a machine

Yes, very happy with it indeed. I'm only on 580 odd miles so not opened her up yet, but can't wait.

Good news for UK 2020MY X3/X4 owners.......

Had the dubious 'pleasure' of a 500 mile round trip from Yorkshire to Hampshire yesterday.

Saw so many BMW car transporters that they appeared to outnumber all others 10:1 with only 3 others - 2 Range Rover and 1 Aston Martin.

Lots of Carbon Black, Sophisto Grey and Metallic Black with X4's out numbering X3's. Most were northbound from Hampshire (Southampton area) so I expect so deliveries imminent.

Some even had plates on before getting to dealer - is that normal?

Our X4 M40d comes Monday so good luck to all of you who have been patient - the wait appears over for many....
