I was at the dealer today and saw the details of the recall. Is about the battery and air con temperature control or something similar. Since the 03/22 version is released and available for us which is fixing the issue, that is why the recall was announced again. Apparently the issue was caused to all cars that were built mid of 2021 until August and had the 07/11 version.

For those not familiar with BMW EVs, my experience over the past 8 years is that BMW will not offer free firmware upgrades via a dealer unless there is a major issue issue. For example, BMW reduced the regenerative braking on i3s as it was causing the motor bolts to break. Nice-to-have firmware updates are generally left until next servicing date. I confess that I am still unsure about the firmware updates that BMW intends to deploy OTA. |

I just had my car updated to 03/2022.28 this morning (took under an hour at the dealer) due to the 0064170200 recall (which is related to cooling mentioned here earlier).
The service guy didn't know much, work order states "Programming control units (IHKA)" which is "Integrated automatic heating / air conditioning". So far haven't seen any difference in practice. I've had one only remote update last summer (03/21) - in Jan I went in for the radar recall to the dealer which was an update to 07/21 version. |

This is really disappointing.
I have complained to BMW Munich about the lack of Pre-Heat capability in the Pre-LCI and they stated that they had no plans to introduce it. I'm really struggling to understand why BMW chose to do this and why a Pre-LCI model manufactured just one week prior to an LCI model does not get the same functionality. BMW and other sources have confirmed that the underlying hardware is exactly the same |

My car was in to the dealer yesterday for recall 0064170200. The dealer told me it was related to Air-Con and that the vehicle had been "re-configured". From what I can tell, all that was done was a software update to 03-2022 and I can't see any other changes within the car's settings. So the recall is done but I have also finally had a software update on my car since receiving the car last year with version 03-2021

I didn't have the profile issue before - mainly because my car wouldn't update to 07/2022 software version but I can confirm that I have no profiles issues running 03/2022 so hopefully it fixes your issue.

If old pattern remains, remote updates start ~3 months after the update has been first launched. Last year 03/21 update came around June-July. Odd thing I've noticed after the 03/22, now the current consumption meter (blue bar in the dash) shows 100% when I'm standing still. I'm pretty sure it showed 0% before the update. |
