Rear seat protection

New member here - first post. Appreciate all the advice I've been able to get from reading current posts.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in any of the posts I've searched is rear-seat "back" protection for when the seats are down.

I had very briefly looked at a Subaru Outback in my new car search and they have a super-clever option that protects the back seat and is attached to their cargo mat. Their seats drop remotely just like the X3 - and it was interesting to see that back protector work - stayed lined up - very nice.

Are any of you aware of any 3rd party options like that for the X3? I've searched and haven't found anything comparable - but thought it was worth asking....

Here's what the Subaru one looks like:

Check out canvas back. They make one that can cover the entire cargo area (sides included) and will split with the folding seats. I love mine and also added the side covers since this photo was taken.

Thanks

Thanks for the canvas back idea. I had looked at those - but was hoping for something "rubberized" (not sure that's a word) like the stuff that weathertec uses - or similar to the Subaru one. I build furniture as a hobby and worry that the canvas wouldn't be enough protection for the rough hardwood I haul occassionally.

I would think that if you are setting the hardwood down on it would be fine but if you plan on sliding it in, then it may get hung up or snag.

I second the Canvasback. Bought the whole set a year ago and never looked back.

Awesome.
