Any week 36 X3 M40 folks gone to production yet?

Saw that a couple of 2020 X4 M40's had gone into production. I'm a week 36 for an X3 M40 but still sitting @ 112 status.

Is that for an X3 or X4?

I'm at 5055 status (VIN allocated) and ready for Production on Week 36 (week commencing 2nd September) for the car to be built.

ETA for delivery is week commencing 21st October in the UK - hoping for this and getting the car before Brexit! (Avoiding any potential delays at the ports etc)

I didn't know there was a way to track UK orders? Is there a portal, or did you ask you dealer? Mine's on Alphadrive so I don't really want to make a pest of myself with my dealer (who's not remotely local).

Yeah, my dealer informs me along the way with each status change and also shared my VIN which allows me to track when the car starts production in the factory.

If you have your order number, you can also speak to the customer services team at BMW and they can also give updates too...

I ordered a MY20 M40D at the end of June and it's now been built and is on its way to the distribution centre.

As i'm in the UK, it's currently looking like delivery in the last week of September / first week of October.

Wow, that's rapid, considering they aren't supposed to start getting built until next week!

Looking forward to pictures as I'm waiting on the same.

Yeah, as i've ordered through BMW Park Lane, i believe they have priority build slots.

It could still get held up in delivery but let's see...

I’m the same and received my “your car has gone into production” email last week, so either a week early or the emails preceed the car status !

Hi Loch,

I’ve also got my VIN from my dealer and my build and expected delivery weeks are same as yours. How are you tracking when car starts production in the factory ?

Regards,
Mike.

Has anyone started to investigate the shipping side of delivery and how to track? I've found a few threads on other forums, but they're a few years old and some things may have changed...

I'm wondering if VAT will come down in the forthcoming budget, it would be nice to have an extra discount!

Keep regular conversations going on with the genius team for daily updates, via BMW UK customer services and also through my very helpful dealer. With that I can see the necessary updates and build a picture.

I wish I could find a BMW API that shows all the statuses of the build and delivery using the VIN so I could extract this information but can't find this easily at the moment. Back to good old detective work, lol!

Heard from my dealer tonight that the Extended Shadowline trim should include the black mirror caps too on the MY20 X3 M40i.

Fingers crossed that is the case as that will save me approx. £150 of aftermarket work I was planning to complete post delivery of the car.

Excited as the car is due to head into production this week... the delivery date is hopefully going to fly in now

Will be good and make sense if they are but the configurator is showing the mirror caps as being colour coded to the car.

My car is due to go into production this week too
