Bought a X4 M40i 10 months ago, and now it's outdated ...Happy for those folks getting a 2020, but truly unfair to those of us with 2019's, many of us paid the same $60-70k for a lesser vehicle....BS!!! |

Honestly doesn't make our 2019's any less of a vehicle than it already is. It's still a well performing SAV with lots of tech.

I'm surprised it dropped two ticks. But as xlover will say, these times are mostly for marketing purposes. The MY19 0-60 was underrated. Maybe the MY20 0-60 is underrated a bit less.

I agree. It does look as though at BMW USA they changed the to 0 to 60 to 4.4. to bad in at least three other places in still says the HP is 355.

Ahhh.. when does this engine appear in the X3M40i?? I have one on order and it has yet to go into build.. knowing that I am in UK, it most probably will be detuned to cater for WLTP and take another 20hp off.

The assumption has been the WLTP with it's NOx filter results in the engine being 355/360hp but this isn't confirmed anywhere....I'd love to know too. Yours being a Sept delivery is MY2020 build for which WLTP has to be adhered to for the car has to be crushed - you will surely get whatever the on-going spec will be.

So that is showing 285 which would imply inc in BHP then... and on the site its still showing the 4.8sec time (not that it makes any difference)

You can also speak with your local country BMW customer services which should be able to tell you the last seven digits of the chassis number if you have your order number available to share with them. decoder.bvzine.com is a good site with which to check your build configuration using your last seven letter/numbers combination of your VIN chassis No. |

If you think all things are equal, you haven't been paying attention. There are several changes to the motor that have been pointed out in other threads. Lighter crankshaft, much longer timing chain and a few more things, all of which have the potential to change the engine's characteristics. Any change to an engine can increase or decrease performance and/or fuel efficiency, depending on what is being changed. I'm happy for you fanboys who giggle like schoolgirls at the thought of shaving 0.2 seconds off the 0-60 time of a friggin' SUV. See if you can use bimmercode to increase the volume of the ASD as well. That'll make it even faster! |
