Just to follow up, I ordered this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And taped off the backside and repainted. It came out... ok. It's a bit glossier than stock, and wasn't a perfect finish, but it's a bit better than before. The material got SUPER stretched/wrinkled after spraying, but it tightened up after a few days. You probably wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it, so it will probably only bother me, but I'm happy that it's not as bad as before. Will probably, eventually, buy some new ones when the price point hits under $100 a pop. Pics (the "after" pictures are a little hard to see because of lighting conditions, but you get the idea): (EDIT - Sept. 2020: This did fix them ~90%. Still smoothed out and not really noticeable unless you're looking for it.) View post on imgur.com Last edited by Alias1431; 09-12-2020 at 04:57 AM.. |

It would be cool if someone made decals like this company does, my wife has there on her VW GTI:

I ordered 2 but got 3 within about 10 days. They are about 1/4" larger than the yellow visor warnings and installed easily. They came with good instructions. The product was exactly as advertised. As for durability - we'll have to see. I would recommend them to my fellow X-3ers.

Just spray a coat or two of Krylon black matte paint and be done. Krylon brand is carried by most all of the big box hardware stores.....$5 and it's done if it really bugs you.

Hey - at least the guy had the stones to share his journey :-)
Credit is due to that one, I'm sure we all did something we regretted at some point in life. Me - I was younger staying in a shared house. I wanted to rig up TV coax into my room, so though "hey I'll go up via that built in cupboard". So I measured up, went into the loft (attic) punched a pilot hole through to the place the cable should go (don't ask why I didn't do it the other way round - logic is misplaced on my youth). Went downstairs to my cupboard. No hole. WTF? Go back up I CAN SEE INTO THE CUPBOARD (you know where this is going) make the hole larger. Downstairs. No hole. Back up - by now its about 2inches across and I'm like :-|. The sounds of my female flat mate shouting "What the fuck are you doing to my cupboard" (which backed onto hers in the next room. Shit got real after that :-/ |

Not sure if I would do it this way again in the future, but I am very happy with how my fix turned out, and even happier those stupid airbag warnings are gone. For those curious about lingering smells, they completely dissipated after just a few days.

Just ordered two sets of decals for our BMWs. The G05 X5 (recently sold) had fabric sun visors, for which I used alcohol; the end result was faint ghosting but not distracting yellow warning label (fair trade-off in my book). The G82 M4 has vinyl sun visors, for which the same alcohol soak had little effect. I resorted to permanent magic marker; same effect: faint ghosting but label completely gone. I'll try the warning label cover-up decals on the M4, then if satisfied, apply them to the incoming X3.

You can buy RHD sun visor for cheap on eBay or order from your local bmw dealership and have genuine perfect finish
In UK passenger airbag notice is on left hand side sunshade and right one is just black without stickers |

Since we are deep into this sun visor bullshit/swamp, does anyone else take issue with the tiny size of the sun visor and how useless it is with sun coming in through the side window?… Has anybody found a good retrofit?
