Based on money factor alone this is a good deal. Does 10% off include the incentives?

Normal money factor is 0.00145
Money factor dropped to .00128 for September.
Thanks! I hadn't realize. Sounds like my lease just got better since I haven't picked it up yet.
Nice! That's always good news!

Looks like a good deal to me. I'm in IL, best offer to me so far is 8% off MSRP before incentives.

Hi, hoping to get input on a deal on X3 M40i. Found a dealer willing to give 10% off MSRP. I'm utilizing MSDs x 7 on top of base MF.

Also, for BMW CCA members, we get a rebate after purchase, right?

Thanks!

You have another 1k off in that purchase price. Tell them thats where you need to be if they go -500 or 250 boom couple dollars in your pocket.

And yes CCA gives you a separate rebate it is $500.

Hi - I really love this site, and I've been following this thread for several weeks. However, as a result of this research, I have offended every dealer in the area; and now they're non-responsive and refuse to deal with me. When I mention to them that I'm seeing an average of 15% before incentives, I'm laughed at or escorted out of the dealership.

1. On a 2019, local dealer will offer 15% inc. incentives which puts his pre-incentive MSRP discount at about 6.7%. He also said they could do 6% max inc. incentives on a 2020.

2. I called a dealer about 45 min away and tried to finalize a tentative deal before driving down there... I was told (by internet person) "If we can do 18%, would you be willing to sign today?".. Of course, I interpreted that as "yes, we want to deal with you", and I drove to the dealership immediately. After discussing the car details, etc, (w/the official client advisor), the negotiating process spiraled out of control. I thought the internet rep had given the client advisor a heads-up on what we had discussed, but that was not the case. The client advisor ultimately invited a sales manager to join in, and she accused me of lying and asked for written proof of the other deals. They wouldn't even counter-offer and made me feel like a criminal. I really couldn't believe it.. Five hours wasted!!

3. I emailed another dealer yesterday indicating that I was "reading online" about the average X3 discounts at this stage of the year, and I simply asked him what his current MSRP discount % is on his remaining 2019's. I received a sarcastic, flip response back telling me to go ahead and buy where I'm seeing that discount, and didn't even bother telling me what he could do on a car. I even replied back nicely explaining that it was online research, and also left a message for the general manager, but no response back from either person.

Over the weekend, I thought I would give up on BMW and try just buying an Audi instead; but I encountered almost the exact response/behavior from three Audi dealerships.

Now, I don't know what to do. I'm almost out of dealerships. I'm considering hiring a car broker at this point. Why is this so difficult? I've been watching the inventory levels, and it doesn't seem like people are knocking their doors down to buy the 2019's. Also, they have some undesirable colors/option combos on most of the remaining units. I think when I bring up the discounting, they think I'm some tire kicker, just wasting their time. They don't even know me. I could buy a dozen cars if I wanted to -- I'm planning to pay cash and/or finance the minimum required to qualify for the incentive.

Is it true that they have an unlimited line of people just walking through their doors paying retail for year-old cars? I thought, in year 2019, most people are doing a little internet research before walking into a dealer cold. Why would they treat a potential customer this way? Any recommendations?
Sorry to hear about your experience, and I feel for you coz what I've experienced before was similar. They made it sound like it's a seller's market.

One thing to keep in mind when you compare deals you get from local dealer with what you saw online: regional difference could be HUGE. Generally the west coast and NY/NJ area can get much more aggressive deals simply because the competition there is much greater. Big market, more dealerships, and meanwhile more purchases as well. Therefore the dealers don't only make money by selling cars but also by getting volume rebates.

I'm in Chicago and in the midwest you rarely get a deal as good as most can be seen online. This is very obvious and take a look at the level of activities on Leasehackr forum you will understand.

Adjust your expectation and be more pragmatic instead of fully trust whatever you see online...

Hi. Not sure if covered before (probably). Have been looking at courtesy vehicles at my local dealership which show varying degrees of being discounted, can you expect any discount on those besides the advertised price? Some showing a selling price of $41k with a MSRP of $47.5k.

They also have a few m40i's but only 1 with setup for apple car play without much discount.

Thanks

Where are you located? It seems that some NE markets are seeing better incentives.

10% discount on a 2020? That's awesome, which LI dealer is it? Is the 2k a 2020 incentive or are they allowing a 2019 incentive to apply to the 2020 vehicle?

Hey guys,

New to the thread. Great insight here, looking for advice as I'm currently looking at two 2019 X3's.

1) 2019 X3 xdrive30i - service loaner with 4,200 miles
MSRP - $52,445
Dealer Price - $47,445
Price after 5k incentive - $42,445 and dealer's final offer
Driver Assistance Package
Convenience Package
Premium Package
Black Vernasca Leather
3 years 36k maintenance started in May 2019

2) 2019 X3 M40i - brand new with 150 miles
MSRP - $62,295
Dealer Price - $58,300
Price after 5k incentive - $53,300 and dealer's final offer
Driver Assistance Package
Convenience Package
Premium Package
Executive Package

Please let me know which deal's better. My gut feeling says the X3 M40i, but would love to hear your insights. I wasn't even considering the M40i until I saw this deal. In your opinion, is there any room for both options to be better deals? If so, please advise.

Thanks!

I would get the M40i but insist on a bigger discount as its a 1 year old car already which already depreciated 30% of msrp.

Thanks for your reply. They're not budging from $53,300, but I'll try again today. What's a good number to counter offer and what's a good number to settle for in your opinion? Thanks.

I would get at least 15% off msrp plus incentives which is what i got. Remember your the buyer here so don't rush into it. Keep calm and make them the offer and see what they have to say. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I tried again last night and they didn't budge. The response I got was "maybe you should buy from that dealership". Unbelievable lol, I gladly walked away.

Sorry to inform you but those are not good deals at all.

I too was shopping for a loaded 30i which was almost 60k. Folks on here said if I am paying that add a couple dollars and get myself an M40i for a better overall car. Not that the 30i isnt. So its about 5k more for my build. I went to the dealer drove an only M40 they had and said yep, price me out this one.

As for pricing you are asking about deals...in your #2 example my 2020 M40 msrp was more and I paid less than you are getting quoted, so an FYI.

Good luck

You're right, I'm not entertaining these deals anymore. What was the deal you got on your M40i if you don't mind sharing?

I think that response must be part of the BMW sales training, because I received the exact response from a dealer. I've been trying to purchase for a couple of weeks, and I haven't had success yet. I'm approaching the point of just giving up altogether for two reasons...(1) I'm running out of dealerships and (2) buying a car should not have to be this aggravating. Good luck!
