2011 BMW X3 (F25) comes into focus with most revealing spy photos yet (2/22/10)
We bring you these newest spy photos of upcoming 2011 BMW X3 (F25) spotted for the first time with only tape camouflage. The car is now more fully revealed as we can clearly see the front bumper design, grills, and headlamp shape, as well as the profile shape, side windows, and rear tail light shape. Overall, it appears to be an improvement in looks over the current outgoing X3 model.
Production of the new X3 is to be moved to South Carolina in the newly expanded plant alongside the other X vehicles. The car itself is built upon a shared platform with the next generation 3-series (F30) and since the X3 will be released before the next generation 3-series it will actually serve as a preview for the 3-series.

Not bad. Wish they had used a more fluid design though...this still seems a little choppy compared to an x5/x6. Maybe it will look better fully uncovered

I understand keeping down cost is keeping down price, but they need to remember they're a luxury brand, this car is looking very dull compared to their others, and very boring.

Ditto on both counts. I might as well keep my 06 X3 by the looks of things.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but... I would still buy a Q5. It looks so much nicer and luxurious.

The only thing stopping anyone from getting a Q5 instead of this X3 (unless it miraculously looks MUCH nicer once unveiled) is Audi's ridiculous APRs and their lower residual values, which increase monthly payments quite substantially on most of their lineup. The Q5 looks so much nicer (at least on the outside), and honestly a SAV is not a going to be "The Ultimate Driving Machine" and Audi has done quite a good job with the Q5, so at this point it seems to be a winner.
But I'll hold final judgement for when this car is actually unveiled. |
