My car has arrived at the dealers this morning. It was scheduled week beginning 20th September but I got a video from the dealers about an hour ago with it being taken off of the transporter. It looks great. Lots of interest at the dealers as it’s the first LCI they’ve all seen. Going to see it later today. Picking it up next Tuesday.

Just been to take a quick look at the car and I forgot my phone! So no photos yet. Will be picking it up Tuesday morning. And yes the dealer suspects it’s probably the first in the UK.
I won’t post the video I was sent as it has my dealer in it and he might not want to be plastered all over the internet, so for his privacy I won’t post. A few little things I noticed. The rear indicators are slightly different to the U.S spec ones we’ve all been looking at on YouTube! They are a thin line like the pre LCI, whereas the U.S ones seem to also illuminate the larger section at the outer edges as well. Also on the taillights there are little square red marker lights on the sides of the lights independent of the halo rear LED lights. The M seats don’t have coloured/illuminated M badges in the headrests (as per the digital brochure) just black M badges like pre LCI. The M front seats did have an extra button on the side towards the front which I believe is the width adjustment. And it was very quiet on start up. No loud cold start sound. Quite subdued is how I’d describe it. BG seemed darker than I was expecting having seen it on a 440i that seemed lighter. And dam it looked good. BG really suits this car. Doing some paperwork for it I noticed that it was referred to as an X3 M40i US LCI. I asked the dealer what the US but was and he wasn’t sure and said it probably because it’s made in the USA. I said that I thought it was made in South Africa and he said that some 40i’s are built in the States. But I’m not sure about that. |

If your VIN start with a 5, it's US build

My M40d is "G01 M40d US LCI B57 3.0d" - Was told South Africa was the origin. You should be able to tell from the country code in the VIN. |

Looks fantastic! Carbon fiber is the best trim in my opinion. Best of luck and try not to loose any sleep waiting for Tuesday!

BMW Genius via web chat, or your dealer should be able to confirm if it's LCI or not. |

Very nice and well specced car!
Well thats my decision on the M Seats sorted! After many questions relating to the M Seats your video confirms they are indeed fitted with seat back width adjustment Just need to decide on paint colour! |

I can do some tomorrow if you want?
What exactly do you want photos of? Been spending the afternoon setting it up with my key. Waiting for my wife to come home so we can set up her key and memory seat position. Wow this car is complicated! So glad I went with the carbon interior trim. It looks epic. Put some floating centre caps on, M dust valve caps and some of the M style after market rear sill scuff protectors.

Honestly mate, I was just interested to see a few pics of the outside, and maybe the M seats. Purely from a selfish point of view since my M40i is very similar in spec but is still 4 weeks away! Enjoy the car. |
