2 weeks in with new X3 M40i

Had the M40i for 2 weeks now, first foray into SUV (or should that be SAV) territory. Having moved from a Civic type R, it's a different driving experience, but absolutely loving the engine! It had a full wash and polish yesterday and I think I've found one of the best possible angles to show it off properly, agree?

I love the colour - I picked up mine up on Thursday ... and have managed 200 miles only. It feels great. I came from an M240i convertible so this is a change in style of car but not engine.

I will let it get a few thousand miles in it and put it on a rolling road to see if BMW's figures are accurate.

I love the car so far !

Edited to add just saw you came from a CTR !!! I had one of those back in 2004 ... loved every second if it but omg this is a different beast ! Lol

My blue X3 is seriously growing in me .... I love the colour !

Lovely that. That's the colour I wanted but sadly they couldn't source at the deal I wanted so it's glacier silver for me. Looks superb.

I've had an X4 M40i in carbon black, same wheels, for the past 4 weeks. Loving it as well.

Have you seen Glacier Silver in person? I actually changed my Phytonic Blue order to Glacier Silver when I saw a 40i in that colour in the flesh.

No not yet. The dealer had a goldish coloured one in the showroom and it was nice and clean.
The silver had a couple of extra options on so I can't wait to see the car in the flesh.

I was torn between the usual Sapphire Black, Carbon Black and the phytonic blue metallic which I bought ... tbh any would have been great, they are all so good !

This is a car which responds well to decent colours so we are all happy

I didn't want Glacier Silver at the outset but I'm super happy that I have it now. Love mine, especially with all the gloss black trim instead of the Cerium Grey.

I don't feel like it's really that a rare of a color but on the forums it sure seems that it is with blue and black leading the pack for those on here.

I would have been more than happy with Glacier Silver, xirallic grey or the phytonic blue, but the Mrs said Black or Black....so I went Carbon Black

I personally LOVE the Cerium Grey accents, as see so many (Mainly Audi) with the gloss black, but agree it is a bit of a PITA to keep clean
