Black Competition Parts - what should I do?
It looks like the black grill for the X3M non-competition will take some time to become available, and I am already getting antsy to replace my chrome for black.
Since I can change all of the rest of the chrome pieces now, what would you do? - Keep all pieces chrome until the grill is available? or - Install the black X3M emblem (not going to install the comp part of it), side vents and black exhaust tips and keep the chrome grill while I wait? See pictures to inform your recommendation! I am leaning towards changing all of the parts I can right now. I think mixing them looks better than chrome all around. Thoughts? |

Why wait? Just black everything out that you can and do the grille when it's available.

Why not just wrap them for much less cost? Had mine done yesterday.

You are right. I thought mixing and matching wouldn't look great, but I do like the look better than all chrome. I wanted an opinion from you guys, make sure it doesn't look weird.

Side vents are 50 each and grill will be about 150. I'm looking at 250. How much does it cost to wrap? Exhaust tips and black emblem cannot be wrapped. And the wheels I actually like them as they are. Love this style. |

$75 for me. I’m thinking about just getting black badges and having them put on, or plasti-dip. |

I believe the most cost effective solution would be to plastidip the grill if you can take it off yourself (otherwise just get it wrapped)
You can also plastidip the badge. |

It's a good question. I should get the car home soon and find soon enough! In the meantime, I'm working with a dealer that might be able yo get it for me. They found the one with the hole for the front camera, but that's not what I have.

I tried getting the grill wrapped at a specialist shop and they told me that due to the shape of the grill, it wasn't worth it. That the vinyl would not stay stuck for long… 🤷*♀️

Plastidip, or just matte spray yourself, or just buy new ones,

super easy to do and pretty resilient, you should have no issues, can always reapply and peal off if you dont like the look, its like adding a rubbery layer.
