Honestly, your written English in this thread is more coherent than a LOT of people who call it their first (and probably only) language, so don't apologize.

Back to topic I'm going to check one more time when back home on weekend

Lenny, in great detail, please advise how you are trying to initiate launch control.

I tried launch control for the first time yesterday. I have had my car since March and at about 3,200 miles. Stopped the car, turned traction control off, shifter to the left, step on brake, press gas pedal all the way to the floor.
I got the checkered flag and away I went! Then I remembered after a loud bang in the back that I had a full case of oil behind the back seat. Oops. No damaged bottles. I think launch control is really a useless gimmick but I wanted to see if I got the flag and did.

Hi,
Tried mine for the first time a few weeks back.
Put car in Sports plus mode
Gear lever to the left
Traction control off
Left foot hard on the brake pedal
Right foot hard on the accelerator pedal
Revs built and settled - saw flag on dash display
Released brake pedal and off we went - rapidly!
Cheers
Steve

Where to launch your car safely? The only proper answer is the race track. However I always go to “Mexico” to do my street racing.

Doubt if everyone using launch is going to the track, but this is why I'm asking the question. Can't obviously do this on city streets.

Lookup launch control videos on youtube for the X3. I’ve watched 20+ and 0 of them were on the track. It’s just up to the individual driver.

In my X3M you have to press and hold the DSC button for 5 seconds to turn traction control off.

Engine in sport mode
Traction control turned off (hold for 5 secs)
Transmission in highest setting and displaying 1 for the gear
Brake to the floor
Hit the lockdown button on the gas
Release the brake and hold on.

Easier way is press M2 button twice
Hold DSC for 5 secs
Slap shifter the to the right once
Brake
Gas
Go
