F25 N55 X3 Catalytic Delete

Hi All,

I plan on gutting the catalytic or installing a downpipie soon in anticipation of getting the Bootmod3. In the interim without the Bootmod3, aside from it triggering the check engine light, is there anything else I need to worry about?

Will the DME make any changes or reduce power in anyway?

Thanks,

Roy

If that is your daily driver I would highly advise against doing that.

Roy, I would buy both together. I currently have BM3 uninstalled on my x3 because it was in for service. Trans acts a little rough in under medium throttle conditions because it gets confused with the high flow downpipe and the noise that the turbo makes before it spools up is incredibly annoying.

Do it! Unless you need to put stock cat on and or smog in your state. There's literally no drone with stock muffler and smell is subjective too

When I stop seeing diesel trucks, passenger and commercial, stop spewing black smoke out their tailpipes then maybe I'll worry about what's coming out of mine.

I have full bolt installed but haven’t tuned and all is well. Even my race cats throw a cel light still, but no power loss from the dme adjusting to mods. I’m soon to add MHD stg 2+ To take advantage of the upgrades. Good luck

Quick question, tried searching but couldn't find a definite answer.

Is there a full delete kit available for the 2.0L diesels or are the parts interchangeable between the 3.0L and the 2.0L?

Is there a thread somewhere that I could find the information?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been covered a billion times.

Updating here, I went ahead and gutted it a couple of weeks ago!!! You where absolutely correct no drone the loudness increase was minimal and the smell negligible!

I ran around with only my racechip and had no ill side effects what so ever. I now have a the bootmod3 flash and love it.

This is a great free mod. Also the cat has two separate cells you could knock the post secondary 02 and still keep the pre secondary 02 cell for a free high flow cat!

I have a couple of pics showing this but I am getting an error message when trying to upload the pics

Thanks again E90705 for clueing me into the app!!! Pics below

Use the Bimmerpost app, and upload pics from the app! Way easier than using a image resize app. Yes it's hard to go back to having a cat once you go 🐱 less

No negatives for me I love it. You will get an increase in smell from the tail pipe. I have owned high performance catless cars most of my life so it was no biggie for me.

How's the exhaust note? Thinking of doing the same.

Exhaust note is great. It got a tiny bit louder in a good way, but I have absolutely no drone.

I have the rest of the exhaust stock for moment. The only change was disconnecting the line to to exhaust flap in the back so it is open all the time.
