Opening the boot??
I am getting really confused at not being able to open the boot when I want to.
For example, I get home, put the car in Park and either press the Stop button or open the driver door to turn the car off. Walk to the back of the car, boot will not open until I press Unlock on the fob. I have the car set to unlock all doors at the end of a journey. The manual mentions the option to unlock the car when in Park, but I do not have that option under Settings with the other locking and closing options. I do not have the car set to lock automatically. Can I really not get out of the car and open the boot without unlocking? |

Don’t you have the boot open function on your key fob. Also there is a switch on the drivers door card to open boot and not forget swiping your foot under the rear offside area of bumper to open the boot (wether it’s locked or not) if you have keyless

Sorry, that wasn't very clear. I don't understand why the boot is actually locked in the situation where I have stopped the car, turned it off (but not locked it) and walked back to the boot. I'll be honest, I have never tried the foot swipe, I assumed mine didn't have it! |

From memory on my previous X3 the boot stayed locked unless I unlocked the whole car when exiting or used the key fob or door button.
On my new iX3 the boot opens when I’m near it by any means tried because of comfort access. |

I have the kick sensor. It's so hard to activate. I have to kick about 5 or 6 times before I can get it to work. There must be a sweet spot but I have not found it.

There is a theory that the rear view camera spots when you have both arms full and plays silly buggers regardless of technique! |

It’s in the manual under comfort access, there are also some settings under CAR/settings/doors-vehicle access/tailgate |

I’ll try again today but I get the impression our cars are subtly mocking us! |

My car has a build date of 6th May and doesn’t have the 32X code. As Britaliano already has their car it must have been built before the deletion.
Make sure the function has been turned on in idrive and spent a few minutes looking like a dancing halfwit at the back of the car and I’m sure you’ll get it eventually! |

Mine definitely has the kicking boot....just that sometimes it doesn't work...mainly when your hands are full of shopping and someone is watching in a car next to you
Stand well back and eventually you get the knack. If not then one of our England woman players will do it !!! |

I got my car in March.
I have no reference to it in the manual (I searched for “comfort”) and nothing under Tailgate in iDrive. The only option there is opening height. |
