I love it. I think it blows the current one away.

I agree with both regarding the competition. But it's all personal preference too.

Funny thing about Bangle though, his flame "whatever" designs were either loved or panned back in the day. No in-between.

Took me years to warm to E60, then I jumped in with both feet on Msport 550.

That thing was a highway assassin

I thought it looked bad in the photos, but it does look much better in motion in the press video. The profile looks really nice and I hope BMW continues to move away from the headlights being connected to the grille. These headlights are almost a little too bug-eyed like that previous 1 series hatch, but they're toned down enough so it's not "derpy" looking. I think this is looking like a successful redesign overall.

Thank you for posting!

I really, really hope they sexied-up the interior and that includes more than offering just Dakota. I've got Nappa today and love it.

That HUD Rocks!

Wink

Stoked... I cannot wait.

This X3 will bring both BEV & PHEV.

Think torque vectoring dual eMotor xDRIVe.

The Q5 is a direct competitior though, and the Audi have it's customer base obviously. I think the X3 will do excellent, but it need at least one hybrid option and one EV option.

When will BEV and PHEV version surface? I need one soon as our i3 is a bit small for the whole family so it's just my city car.

Love the new look, can't wait for more details. Trying to trade my Grand Cherokee Summit in for something faster, better looking, and more engaging to drive. The last X3 is so ho-hum but this new one looks amazing. More for your money than the Macan and way better looking than the new SQ5. Definitely going to pester my wife to get into the M40i.

Love the look of the M40i. Looking forward to replacing my wife's RDX for one of these to join the 335i Msport in the garage!

Late 2018 we should know exactly when it's coming.

At that point in time a BEV will be cheeper to make vs the ICE version.

BMW knows they can't wait to long.

It's a pretty car but its confusing me a bit, well at the front at least is it a 1 series? 5 Series or X series car? Because it has all elements in the front, its not an ugly car by no means but it feels a bit like the designer wasn't sure he/she wanted it to follow one of the other cars more so person in charge made it look like it was a little bit of every car in the front.

But the interior looks good overall appearance of the car is very present and it speaks to a lot of people i bet. I just hope we will see Full ev's versions of it in the future and not just 18d 20d 25d the diesels are dead within the next 8 years so this car better have options for different engines otherwise it seems like BMW is ignoring the fact that we need new engines adapted to future regulations otherwise buying an X3 25d x-drive will be an very expensive story.

I've never liked the X3 until now. Last 2 models looked too feminine to me, so I always opted for the X5 but I might have to check into this once my lease is up in August 2018, since the new X5 wont be available till after then.

We might not see the all-electric today but we should know more about the hybrid version. Just fear it's going to be way too heavy and with close to nothing in electric range

Yes, most likely it will have about the same range as the G30 530e-drive.
The EV is not until 2019 or something, so a couple of years away.
Allthough i've heard the CLAR platform is not suited for EV vehicles, and as far as i know, the new X3 is build upon this exact platform, maybe something have changed?
But I've not seen the official release, is it delayed?
Wasn't it supposed to start 09:30?

Wait until the real-life and high resolution pictures to see how angular and sharper the new car is.
