The fantastic dealership - Just got a call from the dealership, they said that the other dealership that did the work chasing the noise damaged the light strip and they will not warranty it. It's a $600 job, 2.5 hours of labor, and $135 for the part. I'm mad enough to spit nails right now. Plus I can see this being a he said - they said thing. I'm going to get stiffed.

Man that thing is expensive. You can build your own DIY spotless water setup for $250. Assuming you're not running well water.

Sorry to hear that! It's stories like this that make me want to second guess bringing small issues to the dealer!

After I wash and dry the car I just take a short drive around the block. Once I'm back in my driveway I just wipe up any drips with my microfiber cloth. Easy-peasy.

Most Certainly a thing. German cars set the standard for “vault” like door closing noise for decades. The 2020 X3 misses this mark heavily compared to older BMW’s.

I was also disapointed when I acknowledged the door feel/sound back when I first got mine. I remember lexus being some of the best sounding door closings lol

Yeah, the Lexus doors close with a good sound and feel. But the artificial and over boosted steering makes it feel like your driving a _hit-box.

You drive a BMW but ride behind the wheel in a Lexus.

I just got 2020 x3 m40i with M suspension, only 1 thing bothering me, ride quality… suspension too busy, I feel with my entire body, ride is bit bumpy, maybe due to 21 inch run flats…

Any ideas to smooth out the ride quality?

Coming from F85 x5m, ride quality on x5m was amazing very smooth and not bumpy at all.

Easiest fix would be 19" wheels/tires.

An engineer would tell you to aim for 18". A designer would suggest 22"

Haha...I guess you are choosing "on average" vs. "directionally correct"!

Actually, the 19's look very good to my eyes. I'll know up close and personal very soon.

Haven’t seen this new 19 inch wheel in person yet, but previous pre-lci 19 inch wheel is tiny and actually looks funny on x3 m40i.

We've come full circle back to designers ("looks") vs. engineers ("rides/accelerates/brakes")!

The 19” actually looks good from the side. The black finish makes it blend in well so it doesn’t look small. The 20” may be the perfect size to comfort level.

Now from the back… I do like the stance of the 20”+ sizes because they’re wider. The 19” seem a little anemic and set in too far on the body of the car. But then again I remember I can rotate front to rear and that makes me feel slightly better, slightly.

As always, everyone brings their own aesthetics, but from a comfort perspective, the smaller wheel/taller sidewall will always absorb impact harshness better. It will always be a personal weighting and balance of apperance versus vehicle dynamics.

Personally, I think less than 20” looks a bit lost due to the size of the G01, and while 20” is an improvement, 21” looks even better to my eyes.

The 726 style wheel is my absolute favorite on the X3. I just don’t think it would be comfortable on the roads here. Practicality won out over aesthetics.
