Hi, is there anyone ordered m performance steering wheel from dealer before? 2019 g02 M40i doesn't come with m steering wheel. I am thinking about to buy one. Anyone had experience about this? I checked US m performance parts website. They have nothing for new X3/X4.

M performance steering wheel or M Sport wheel? Those are two different things. Both do have round wheels. M performance wheel is leather and alcantara with white stitching and M sport wheel is full leather that comes on most M40i models now.

The steering wheel listed on the build sheet for the M40i is 710 M Steering wheel.

Yeah, I only have that standard wheel, which means that airbag has to be purchased separately.

I do prefer m performance wheel. If I purchase the m sport wheel. It will make me feel I am wasting money since the M40i suppose to have it as standard, even though MY2019 x4 M40i doesn't have it. They said it's probably because the United States is using the new 3 stages airbag, while BMW can't produce new airbag in m sport style at that time. I don't know if this is true. Anyway, it's already 9 months since I purchased my car. I am thinking maybe the parts department has the m performance wheel ready. But I couldn't find it in their website. Do you have any resources? Thanks

No. You need part numbers. There is a thread somewhere of an M sport wheel that someone gathered all the parts for to put on their X3 they did not have an M sport wheel from factory. It was pretty expensive. All the switches for the wheel and also the airbag.

OK. If that total price is around $2000 to $2500, I think I can still accept that. But if it goes to $3000. I have to re consider about that...how about m performance wheel, do you have any clue?

If you purchase the M performance wheel, you only get a bare wheel with no trims and no buttons from what I understand. You would still need all the buttons and trims and airbag. Search for the thread for the steering wheel. Check the member classifieds. I remember someone was selling a complete M sport wheel.

Gotcha. Thank you. Ive been trying to get the carbon fiber/alcantara trim on the face of the wheel but BMW claims they don't even have production of them yet. I work at the dealer and can see 0 national quantity and the part number isn't officially released yet.

Alcantara m performance wheels do not have steering wheel heat. Also, if you have an X3 M, is there any particular reason you wouldn't get the X3 M/X4 M M performance steering wheel? They are different.
