Had 10lbs of my own Tire Repair Kit, etc. so this is very close to stripped. 1/2 tank of fuel. Only 100lbs heavier than my F90M5. I'm impressed !

Excellent - thanks for sharing onfireX5. So, 4,435 lbs/546 HP (IND's Dyno estimate) yields a competitive Wt/HP ratio of 8.12. Looking at the chart, will be surprised if it doesn't make 3.6s with a decent DA.

Thanks for doing this, there are so many people that wanted to know the weight of these two options. Glad I ordered mine a stripper.

No. Ours have every option on it except the Sunroof and Spare tire. Those two options weigh 88lbs more since I have an additional 10lbs of tools, etc in the X3M. If you deleted Executive, etc it would weigh even less.

Ah so you have M drivers pack? Still I'm surprised that 88 lbs is the difference. I would have that that big glass roof was well over 100 lbs and spare 30 lbs or more.

You might need to go to Ford forum and Bragg there.

That's not my point.

My point is that it's a purpose build vehicle for towing and hauling large loads. It's almost 2' longer and 6" wider than the X3 and yet there's only a couple hundred pounds between the two in curb weight....?

Pathetic for an "///M competition" vehicle if you ask me.

Most X3M don't care that much about performance aspect of the vehicle, hence the X3, not m2, m3, etc.

the X3M is NOT purpose built for towing OR hauling large loads.. it's purpose built for hauling A$$... and it's more of a ONE VEHICLE SOLUTION type vehicle.

PS... Ask any gal... she will tell you... 2 " longer is a helluva lot ...

Are you kidding? How is 650lbs "only a couple hundred pounds"? That's a huge difference.

The M Competition models aren't supposed to be lighter than their non-Comp counterparts. They just have a power bump and more aggressive tuning.

I'm not sure how you think you can compare the weight of one completely different class of vehicle to another, but in its class, the X3 M is a decent weight.

In the same world where a Miata is only a couple hundred pounds lighter than an M2 Competition

Manufacturer DIN ratings are with 90% fuel. So add another ~7.8 gallons to the half tank that was weighed. At 8.4lbs per gallon, that is another ~65lbs on top of the 4435, about 4500lbs with 90% fuel. Now add the additional 75kg(165lbs) which is included in curb weight ratings, you are looking at 4665lbs(minus some weight owner had in vehicle like his tire repair kit). BMW USA curb weight rating at 4620lbs seems realistic. She is a heavy girl.
