G01 vs F25

Video does a good job showing the major differences between the 2 platforms. Enjoy!

Thanks! Still not 100% enthusiastic about the look of the front (at least in the daytime). Can't say it's worse than prior gen, but far from BMW's best work. Wish they could have made it a bit simpler/cleaner, and maybe not go down the road of further emphasizing the grill (e.g., 2 series).

I think the the larger kidney grilles (active) have a lot to do with G01's excellent aerodynamics...with a best in class 0.29 CD for the G01 30i and 0.31 CD for the M40i. I think in the not so distant future, as ICE engines begin to be replaced by EV, there will be more design flexibility to reduce openings for cooling.

I think they did a good job with the overall design of the G01, but like yourself, I don't find it the best looking SAV in class.

So similar, the front end is better resolved in the 2nd Gen..both still not pretty. Interior is where the G01 shines.

Agreed. BMW design language thinking ahead already on this. Saying that the i8 Grills still today look a little odd to me, even if fully closed so vertical slats would look 'BMW' more to me.
