I've found M Startup will only work if your head unit has physically restarted. It would happen to me when I left my BlackVue parking mode on and my vehicle detected the draw and switched 30F relay off to save energy. When jumping back in the car the head unit would boot up with M logo and I'd get a Battery Management malfunction fault.

M logo when turning off works every time for me now and I like it.

Stephan has been testing a new version. Some bug fixes and minor ads.

M Gauge cluster has been better.. but I still have some problems. Very little difference between modes. I don't get the M-HUD - even when trying previous listed hack.

M Startup Animation and 5 click turns have been there for a long time. I use the M Animation. I have never tried the 5 clicks.

Yes 5 clicks shows up in Idrive but does not work.

M startup Im not sure about that since I dont get it. But the shut down it works in the Idrive but not on the instrument cluster. The headunit does the M animation the instrument cluster shows BMW.

And the M instrument cluster layout still is missing your current driving mode.
And I dont know about the actual logo but the logo just says M. I would assume it should say X3M. But I guess the M logo is fine.

Okay this makes sense so I am the same as you. So no start up for us. But we get the shutdown on just the headunit.

New update for the new BC update. V3.6.
No new features for the iD7.

The M start up animation now works on both the head unit and instrument cluster. The last update was intermittent.

The M instrument cluster still does not have the driving mode displayed on the dash. And the heads up display loses the sport shift light.

5 clicks turn signal still does not work. It is available in the settings but you're never able to select it.

So overall mehh.

I wonder why it doesn’t work in the X3. The 3 series has the same ID7 I believe and it works there.

X3 is sp2015 series car(current X3, 5 series), and the 3 series is sp2018 car, X3's iD7 system is not full functional compared to sp2018 series(3, X5, and coming new gen 5 series)

startup works every time now? ill have to check that out. I assume you need to uncheck it and check it again so it flashes the updated coding software?

I have beta.. I updated and was able to get code to work. Ironically; I see BimmerCode 3.6 final was released yesterday. So easy for anyone who cares.

Thats been the case for me so far. Yes I flashed from M to Alpina and then back to M animation.
Now I get M on both headunit and instrument cluster. Before as you know it either didnt show up. Or the M was random and the BMW was random with it too.

My HUD looks nowhere close to this. I have a 2020 X3. Did you use Expert mode or standard?

Pretty sure they're talking about expert mode as that was just enabled on the 3.6 release enabled expert mode for MGU headunit.

Someone on the previous page provided instructions. Annoying for me on android since there doesn't seem to be a way to search a whole module for something while the iOS app has the search ability. I have to go into each sub category and search there only.

Thanks for the instructions. I just followed it and found something somewhat interesting.

It seems that the full M gauge as seen in your photos come on when you have the instrument cluster layout set to M.

I followed your instructions in expert mode for the HUD only. For the instrument cluster, I used standard mode to select M or the regular BMW/Alpina layout.

When I selected the M layout I get the same M rev gauge. But when I selected the Alpina layout with the M HUD enabled, I get a slightly different rev gauge that's actually seen in the M340i's sport mode. It's a smaller one similar to the reduced mode in the M gauge but without the numbers counting the RPM in thousands. The only thing is in the M340i, the rev gauge in the HUD will actually start flashing at you telling you to shift when you get to the higher RPMs which didn't occur when I had it enabled. Funny that BMW doesn't give the X3 M40i any sort of rev gauge option in the HUD.

If you've ever driven a M340i, the exhaust sounds waaay better too with burbles all day at even 2-3k rpm . Also sorry one of the my photos uploaded sideway but idk how to rotate it on here.

New BC version was released 3.6.1. With bug fixes. Not sure if it will make the broken things mentioned above work?

No changes on the actual coding. Maybe there were performance issues with the app itself. BC 3.6.1
I coded to a stock display and back to the M Headunit. M headunit still does not display the driving mode on the dash and the shift light display is missing in the HUD.

5xs blinker also does not work same think I coded it off. And back on.

The check box is not able to be selected in iDrive. Choosing 5 times automatically jumps to 3.
