How long does it gets stuck at 25%? It's 32GB, so it take some time even on very fast connections. Try to install some bandwidth monitoring tool to see the real speed in real-time.

Now I downloaded Road Map Europe EVO 2020-1, but it will not accept my car, it does not ask for a FSC code, but writes that something is missing in the card and will not update automatically as last. It amazes me that I could just update last time without having to do anything, and now I can't and it doesn't ask for a FSC code, if I get a code it should then be put on the USB key, or have I just downloaded is wrong card. Anything you can help me with?

Did you download from the same source? I hope you know, that you are in G01 forum, not F31.

its not stuck as such at 25%, it gets there fairly quickly (30 mins) but then takes forever to get any further.. im now on 38% after nearly 4 hours.!

what connection you have? Or better - did this happen with previous map downloads?

i downloaded the previous update in about 2 or 3 hours with no problems, ive given up on this one for now its only gone up 3% in 2 hours.
ill have another go in a few days..

I usually have the Europe map downloaded in about 30 min.
Could be that everybody found out and bmw servers are at 100%.

I just left mine running, but it does take a long time, and I have 300mbps fibre to premises

Mine took about 8 hours in the end but it did complete. Got to load it now but with only driving a few miles at a time it'll take weeks!

Just let the engine run on the drive. It will only take about half an hour.

That's impressive. I've updated maps about 7 times now, from a SSD hard drive with a 300MB/sec read. Never completed in anything less than 25 minutes onto the car. Your evo must have a decent disk in it somehow

Last time I was sitting in the car waiting for the wife, couldn't swear to 10 mins, so maybe longer, but def less than 25 mins. I will scientifically time this next one, as 2020-2 now available, and 2020-1 had failed for me as did on Mac this time, and car no like 🤦*♂️

The new data is available because it's in the latest isteps.

It's ripped out by a certain group of people ( which you can find if you look ) and uploaded onto torrents.

For some reason, BMW stagger this release to the download managers, and then after that to over the air updates. I assume either for QA, in case they find any issues in a small number of cars, or to distribute server load and bandwith.

Seeing as though I only did 2020-1 three days ago, and it's got the new metro link lines in Manchester on, I'll give it a few weeks before doing it again. Had to go on my "essential" trip to the tip to install them. ( in fairness it was getting essential as the council can't seem to operate a bin pickup service and nappies smell! )
