What I just posted is a 7,62% before rebates. Yeah, don't know if that is good but seems like they won't really move. Trying to get more for my trade in. Good thing is my state lets you deduct trade in for sales tax, so there is another little saving or making up vs selling for more privately. I think you have to minus the $134 membership fee from the $500 but still leaves something on the table. I'll do that, too, if deal goes through. Good luck!

What is the current MF? I just got quoted .00228 and suspect the dealer is trying to pad.

I'm looking to pick up an M40i soon and wanted to know what kind of deals people were getting when ordering versus taking one from the lot. I know the discounts will always be greater for the ones on the lot already but has anyone been successful in getting a good discount when ordering as well? What would be a typical % off MSRP for an ordered configuration?

I got 8.3% off MSRP before any discounts. Custom order. X3 3.0 xDrive.

Not a greatest offer, but it was the best I was able to manage across several dealerships. DC area.

Sounds like a decent discount for a custom order. My local dealership currently is playing the “custom orders won’t get much more than a 2-3% discount game”. Total BS but hopefully I can work them down more.

How's this deal?

NorCal Dealer

MSRP: $60,995.00
Lease Term: 36/10k
RV: 59%
MF: 00188
Initial Cap Cost: $55,000
Conquest Rebate: $1000

Monthly before tax: $696.97
Monthly after tax: $757.95

I believe I can squeeze a bit more out of this.. only major option missing is HUD as they pulled the important things like heated seats and etc from the premium pkg

Thanks for your input!

That sounds like a pretty solid discount on a special order to me. DC area is one of the most aggressive areas due to the high number of dealers.

First one was estimate since he didn't have the car there (but could ship it in), and the second one did have it and I bought it.

Edit: I bought in December 2018 when Costco was not active anymore..
Quick question: When you speak of conquest cash, it is necessary to trade your current vehicle in to get the incentive? Just curious.

My understanding is that neither conquest cash nor loyalty program requires buyer to trade-in old vehicle.

BTW, I cannot find any web site that clearly lists $1000 conquest cash. Is it always available?

I'm not sure that it's always available. I just wanted clarification as to what it means when it is available.

Also, if you no longer have a BMW loan, are you still entitled to loyalty cash? Do you actually have to prove that you own a BMW? or could you have had a BMW loan in the past?

Was this on an M40i or 30i? Also do you mind telling me which dealer?

I got the loyalty rebate without BMW loan or lease, although the salesperson asked for my insurance card which was a proof of BMW ownership.

I think maybe you can ask dealer whether proof is needed. Since it is only $500 more than Conquest cash, I guess it is not that strict.

With all discounts I got 14% off MSRP total.
Just to show full picture. However, I do not know which discounts they applied.

A bit confused on current rebates. I know there is a $2,000 rebate through BMW Finance as well as a $1,500 loyalty cash. I also see what looks like a $2,000 BMW to Dealer incentive on the site for my local dealer on in stock X3s. Is this money coming from BMW, or is it just dealer discount?

Thats not a full picture. How much down? what MF or interest rate? What other fees?
If they jacked you on the rates it doesnt matter how much they took off.

Agreed.

I am going to finance it. 0 down. In order to keep bmw promotions I will go with bmwfs. Do not care about their rates as I am going to refinance it within a month with my CU.

Not sure, what else is missing from my explanation.

I am not considering my deal the best one. However, I hope it will show people from DC area some idea of discounts from custom order they can get.

If anyone here has done this I would love some feedback on how it might work:

I have been reading comments here and there suggesting dealers in my area (Seattle) can be difficult to work with on price. If I were to get a much better price out of state, how would that work for registration, etc.?

Ideally it would be close enough for me to fly there and drive home but I might have to ship it, which could also impact the process?

Any tips?

Hello XGoober, I have been going through the purchase process for an X3M40I from Olympia. I first went BMW NW and had a good experience. They still do Costco. I then tried Seattle, Spokane and Medford. They all play different games with the discounts and would tell me conquest, dealer discount...it got so confusing i asked for the out the door price. Got that from BMW NW. I then gave that number to the other three dealers to beat it. They could not. All talk until pinning them down. We do not seem to get the discounts of the East coast. If I could find an in stock unit I might be able to save but again nothing on the West coast. For me this is an expensive car so I want to order. You might find something in California? I kind of got tired of the chase and will order at bmw nw. Enjoy your hunt!
