I'm looking to pick up an M40i soon and wanted to know what kind of deals people were getting when ordering versus taking one from the lot. I know the discounts will always be greater for the ones on the lot already but has anyone been successful in getting a good discount when ordering as well? What would be a typical % off MSRP for an ordered configuration?

Sounds like a decent discount for a custom order. My local dealership currently is playing the “custom orders won’t get much more than a 2-3% discount game”. Total BS but hopefully I can work them down more.

How's this deal?
NorCal Dealer MSRP: $60,995.00 Lease Term: 36/10k RV: 59% MF: 00188 Initial Cap Cost: $55,000 Conquest Rebate: $1000 Monthly before tax: $696.97 Monthly after tax: $757.95 I believe I can squeeze a bit more out of this.. only major option missing is HUD as they pulled the important things like heated seats and etc from the premium pkg Thanks for your input! |

That sounds like a pretty solid discount on a special order to me. DC area is one of the most aggressive areas due to the high number of dealers.

BTW, I cannot find any web site that clearly lists $1000 conquest cash. Is it always available? |

Also, if you no longer have a BMW loan, are you still entitled to loyalty cash? Do you actually have to prove that you own a BMW? or could you have had a BMW loan in the past? |

I think maybe you can ask dealer whether proof is needed. Since it is only $500 more than Conquest cash, I guess it is not that strict. |

A bit confused on current rebates. I know there is a $2,000 rebate through BMW Finance as well as a $1,500 loyalty cash. I also see what looks like a $2,000 BMW to Dealer incentive on the site for my local dealer on in stock X3s. Is this money coming from BMW, or is it just dealer discount?

Agreed.
I am going to finance it. 0 down. In order to keep bmw promotions I will go with bmwfs. Do not care about their rates as I am going to refinance it within a month with my CU. Not sure, what else is missing from my explanation. I am not considering my deal the best one. However, I hope it will show people from DC area some idea of discounts from custom order they can get. |

If anyone here has done this I would love some feedback on how it might work:
I have been reading comments here and there suggesting dealers in my area (Seattle) can be difficult to work with on price. If I were to get a much better price out of state, how would that work for registration, etc.? Ideally it would be close enough for me to fly there and drive home but I might have to ship it, which could also impact the process? Any tips? |
