FYI you can get a bolt from homedepot for $7 dollars with washer and nut that is stronger than the oem. I’m currently doing every 2 months just because I rather not break another driveshaft and it takes me all of 3 minutes to change it. Will be coming up with my own solution soon!

😂😂 I will once I come up with the design.
$7 and 3-5 minutes of my time to save 700+ is a win win

It looks like this but I get the 5x 1/2 inch version as the 6 pokes out a little to far for my liking

I thought the OE was 12.x mm? Did I read it wrong? It would make sense if people are replacing OE size with a stronger bolt. Lets the OE bushing have the same amount of play (so no NVH) but a far stronger bolt which would (theoretically) resist bending. |

M14x1.5x148mm. When searching for the part number/size, I saw that you commented on the weird size a number of times.

If only BMW thought of sourcing their bolts from Home Depot :P
My caliper shows the factory bolt at 12.9X mm. It's a cheap caliper, but right under 13mm looks to be about right. Yeah in theory an M14 bolt should be 14mm. If the 1/2" is truly 12.7mm, it's probably marginally smaller. Also isn't Grade 8 about the same as 10.9? |
