You can look at the available values for LUT_AFS_DRV_HOR, it shouldn't need to be laser but there should be one noted for the X3.

I just stumbled upon this thread and was surprised that the code I posted hadn't been mentioned before. It had been used for years in a number of models by folks who wanted to use Bimmercode and not VO coding. I have not looked into whether any pother threads show it being used for the X3.
I think we’re all just cautious because we’ve got the matrix LED highs vs other models which have had other methods of beam masking in the past. Will these settings apply to us? Will they actually make things better, worse, stay the same? What does each value do?

That is understandable to feel that way. I could not tell you what they do or will do in your situation. I do not get that deep into coding and only am passing along a method that has been used in the past.

Even though the risk should be minimal/non-existent, I wouldn't recommend anyone make the changes if they are not comfortable doing so. Obviously some folks have done the very simple coding and it works to some extent so fine tuning should just enhance it.

Obviously you will want the ECE values and set your LUT_AFS_DRV_HOR to be for an X3.
Thanks for the info. What exactly is a light leakage and how can one tell if is there or not?
Do you know of any instructions on how to code anti-dazzling using esys?

Simply speaking it would be light that goes where it shouldn’t. In other words the beam will not be precise as needed and some high beam will be projected towards an approaching vehicle.

There are numerous threads containing the Esys instructions on different forums, and would imagine some are in the X3 forum also. Later today when I’m home I will try and post a link to some on the X5 or coding forum.

Here are a couple of links to what people have used for ESys coding of the anti-dazzle.

Of course if you don't want to tackle it yourself, contact Ben at r33_RGSport, he has helped out many of our members.

In addition to this, I noticed a lot of people recommend changing LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y to AFS [00 00 00]. Any reason why your post doesn't have this?

There are various faux implementations and have seen that one parameter mentioned before. I posted the one I chose to do since it seemed to be the most widely used and no one reporting any problems.

It works to my satisfaction as I coded. I just passed on information I had read elsewhere about coding the anti-dazzle.
