V1 DRL installed: 3/28/23 V1 Driver-Side Outer DRL Failure: 4/26/23 V1 Passenger-Side Outer DRL Failure: 5/3/23 I had bought spares a while back (same version 1) and replaced them the next day. I also have the version 2 coming (updated with the metal back) coming in any day now. As of this point, I'm assuming the V1s that I'm currently running will eventually fail, so I'll replace them when they do. Too lazy to go in and replace them immediately since they are working just fine (at the moment). The inner DRLs haven't had a single issue so I guess they're ok and no need for an update. It would be appreciated if you can keep us updated to see if the second versions of these fail as well. I'd say give it at least a month. If they do I'm just going back to stock and not dealing with these anymore.

I'm having pretty much the exact same issue as the guys with the LCIs on my 2018 X3 M40i. I had a failure within the first 2 days on the passenger's side of my first set. Then I received a replacement from BayOptiks and 15 days after installing it the exact same issue occurred but on the driver's side. Fwiw on the second round we also changed the driver's side with one of the new replacement LED boards from an extra set that I had ordered just to have a fresh set on both sides and because we were hoping that the new batch were updated with improvements. Since I now have 2 out of 5 total that are confirmed to be faulty I don't have much confidence anymore. The only thing we're trying differently this third time is to use thermal conductive adhesive glue instead of the thermal tape that was supplied with the kit - it seems some sellers on the bimmer car platforms recommend the glue over the tape due to its higher ability to transfer heat to the the heatsink.
This has been an extremely frustrating experience so far. |

I picked up the MotorSport plus modules from IND. Im sure most of these boards are manufactured by the same company and just rebranded. Ive had them on the car for about 5 days now. No issues so far. The car they used on their website is actually mine

I'm considering the Mod_Emporium ones. Checking to see if they have RGB available yet.

They use the same manufacturer as everyone else, though I have yet to see anyone actually install the RGB version, let alone if they have the same fail rate as the yellow only version.

OEM CSL Yellow does exist just not for us and I doubt it would be the same board..
I did end up installing the outer DRLs and ending up pulling the whole headlight which was easier for me. I installed the updated boards with full metal back and thermal glue, So far so good |

Adding my experience too:
Installed - 3/31 Left failure - 5/11 I don’t drive my car a ton, so maybe that’s the slightly extended failure window. Currently waiting in Icedriver to reply in next steps. |

Would be great to get parts numbers of the PCBs from an F97/98 and M5CS/M4 to see if we could use the same boards, but they are probably 5x as expensive. They just design their boards properly and with better Yellow LEDs, see my analysis earlier in this thread: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...&postcount=128

I meant OE boards for THIS platform (F97/F98) does not exist. Of course OE boards are available for the F90 and G8x CS/L models, but they are completely different and are irrelevant to the conversation.

Any updates from recent installs? My right side lights just went after a month. The vendor is sending me a new set although i am not sure they are improved at all. The DRLs still work and function in parking light mode but do not work as DRLs or with low beams. As someone mentioned, I think is has to either do with full bright on the DRLs or some type of voltage the system is looking for.
Im not looking forward to thw whole swap process again..... |

It's been a bit more than a month and the MS+ DRL's from IND are holding up well. No issues what so ever.
