FYI: I just realized you stole my license plate and I hate you for it (jk).

I always had White Sox plates. When I bought this car last December, I checked Illinois' pick-a-plate website and was shocked to see "S 58" was still available. However. I decided to leave the Hawaii plate on the car because the HI registration was good until November 2023, S58s had been out for several years and no one had taken it yet, and I didn't want to pay for two registrations just to get the WS S58 plate (and the rainbow is pretty sweet). My HI plate expired yesterday. I went to the DMV and - lo and behold - S58 is gone. I now see you're the one that snagged it.
The Hawaii plate is

Another great setup, BrockDM - lightweight, looks amazing and totally functional for your Chicago winters! I've entered your data in a new listing. As always, appreciate your contributions to the Forum.

Welcome to the Forum, thicccm3. The list I'm referencing in your quote can be found in the Opening Post (Post #1, page 1) of this very thread we're in now - but here is the link since you requested it, https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1949903.

We're up to 114 combinations so far with 64% having known or estimated weights - thanks again to all those who are contributing their setups.

Greetings

I’m visiting from the peasants G01/G02 forum…have never been on this side of the fence before

Simple question that one or more of you members might weigh in on

I saw in a post that BrockDM put 315/35’s on a 10.5 wheel. My understanding (from my reading online) was that 11 was the minimum width with 11.5 being even better

No issues with the sidewall bulging on a 10.5?

I've never had any issues and I've never heard of anyone else that has. Nitto
and Atturo recommends a minimum of 10.5 for 315.

I personally prefer a little bulge versus stretching the sidewall anyways.

315 Atturo DZ850 on 10.5

Anyone here running 275/40/21 front with H&R springs?

29.7” tire height into the H&R lowered wheel well of my G02 (yes…I’m a M40i peasant)

I measured w/ my existing set up (255/40/20) and it looks like it’ll work but it’s kinda tight

Going from 28” tire diameter to 29.7”

Sides are fine; it’s just the headroom I’m concerned with

Hoping for some positive feedback

Wheel spec:
Front 20x9.5 +25 tires 275/40/20

Excellent - thanks for sharing the full specs, BeaminF97. Sorry for the delay in getting your entry posted - we just got back from our trip earlier today. Total estimated wt only 220 lbs - well done!

Just installed Richland Forged 21x9.5 (265/40/21) and 21x10.5. (295/35/21).
Front wheels weighed 56.1 lbs, rear weighed 59.3.
Front saved 8.3 lbs each, rear saved 5 lbs each. Saved a total of 26.6 lbs of rotating mass all while adding some more meat.

Another great-looking lighter weight setup - thanks for sharing, paxton306! I've posted your entry to the list and this is how it looks:

paxton306 : Total F97/98 for Richland Forged GT4 in '? Color' (21x9.5 ET?, 21x10.5 ET?)/PS4S (265/40 R21, 295/35 R21) - 231 lbs https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...&postcount=148 and tirerack.com for the tire weights {Ft wheel/tire: 56.1 lbs, Rear wheel/tire: 59.3 lbs} {Separate wts - Ft wheel: 26.1 lbs, Ft tire: 30 lbs, Rear wheel: 28.3 lbs, Rear Tire: 31 lbs}

If you can share the ETs of the wheels [were they +16/+30 like EricP3's?] and the color you chose I'll edit your entry and remove the red question marks.

Thanks again!

Edit - made the ET and color corrections, 11 Feb 2024, 0947AM

Wheel fitment suggestions

Hello everyone I just bought a X3M competition I noticed the ride on the car is rough I feel every bump on the road. Currently the car came with 21s Pirelli scorpion all season. 255 in the front and 265 in the rear. Any suggestion on a tire set up ?

Are they run flats? If so, switch to non-RFT.

Congratulations on your X3MC and welcome to this sub-Forum, Dav340. If you haven't already, would recommend searching and reviewing a number of threads here as a lot of discussions about ride comfort and solutions have already been mentioned.

Some Members suggest tire brands such as Michelin PS4S and PS4 AS where climate-appropriate and size change to 265/295 rather than the OEM 255/265, as well as suspension changes like MSS and KW for example. With the huge volume of posts regarding this topic, its tough to make a simple summary with specific recs to fit everyone's situation, but would encourage taking the time to research through here to get a feel of the various options as everyone seems to have their favorites.
