XHP is not available for 2020 models yet.

It does work with BM3 engine tune and you can get the XHP Transmission tune together on the 18-19 models.
I was looking for a post that confirmed BM3 & xph comparability. Thank you!
Have you used them together? Are they good?

No I have not used the transmission tune. I have no self control. And I would crank it all the way up day 1. With the power I'm making I maybe would get 3 launches until my drivetrain would be left behind.
It strains your transmission incredibly.

This is why I haven't done it.

I would like the torque limit removal for my remap, but I don't really want extra line pressure going towards popping a seal on the gearbox which isn't meant to take that pressure.

I know xHP say the increased pressure is fine but two local mechanics I use are not so confident.
I have run a stage 3 xHP on a 2010 335d for years without issue. I do change the fluid however every 50k

I have, since the post you reference, flashed xHP and am Stage 1 to allow my DMS remap to deliver torque without the TCU getting upset

No issues with xHP though I had to have a few goes to get the flash to complete .... which was worrying.

I have it set to the AWD setting for torque, not that my map goes beyond 610Nm allegedly.

I would try Stage 2 or 3 but don't want the TCU to lock when the flash fails. It was, according to xHP, due to the TCU being in Boot mode which was odd as I had tried it when the car was freshly started and also when the car had been driven. No such issues when I flashed the car with MG Flasher Stage 1 ... that was seamless and excellent (but not quite as good as the DMS map )

Yes, diagnostics ... three button presses and it will bong and show diagnostics mode in dash. I make sure my battery is fully charged + use a charger too to ensure all good battery wise .... but unless the TCU is 'awake' and not in boot mode it fails the flash.

I've found changing after a drive is ok. I stop the car, 'restart' in diagnostics mode and it has been ok.

If car not driven or left too long after it was running the TCU is in boot mode and the flash fails.

Just flash the xHP.stage 2 map for the vehicle and you're all set!

Just flashed the Xhp stage 3 in my 2019 x3 m40i. I have bms stage 1 93 as well. They said I needed the WiFi adapter but the enet cable and laptop worked just great. So if you have a 2019 don't waste your money on the WiFi adapter which I have coming in a few days.

1. Comfort mode. Not much of a difference. Can barely feel the shifts. Seems to be a bit smarter under part throttle

2. Transmission in sport. Quick shifts. Nothing too excessive. Very close to comfort mode.

3. Car in sport transmission in D not M. Feels similar to comfort but much quicker. Not uncomfortable at all.

4. Both in sport. Car up shifts beautifully. Super quick. Sharp. The downshifts are a tad abrupt but nothing crazy.

Mind you I used to have a 97 maxima with a full valve body rebuild for full line pressure. I can live with stage 3 as a daily with no issues. It's perfectly comfortable. Sport+ mode I don't drive in all the time but I think the downshifts when slowing down would bother me over time. Half the time in comfort I don't even know it shifted. I do notice in sport modes the exhaust Seems to be a bit louder than before. Placebo maybe? Anyway I'm a firm believer in harder shifts actually increases life. My maxima had over 275k miles. Stock tranny with just valve body and cooler. Never slipped a gear. So hopefully this helps the car more than hurts it. Overall I would have rather paid 250 for stage 3 and called it a day as I don't see myself ever using the other stage maps.

Pretty much the same experience. Comfort S is my preferred with XHP stage 3. I still think Stage 3 XHP is the most underrated upgrade to every BMW I have driven and these ZF transmissions are durable as hell. Change fluid every 50K and don't worry.

My 2015 x3 35i was tuned for over 150k miles. Never changed the fluid once for the tranny on that car. Shifted absolutely perfect till I traded her in. I was not easy on that car either.

I have stage 2 on mine and love it. Just put stage 2 on my wife's 440I last night and she said "this is how it should have came from the dealer". Well worth the money.

Is the "gear display" (in all modes) means, in S-mode/M-mode where gear displays are already shown from stock, eg. S1/S2/S3, M1/M2/M3 and so on, will now also show "redundant" gear information in the cluster?

Does xHP allow backing up the current state of the TCU from my car and use that in restore flashing? Or, restore flashing process only uses the backup of the latest stock version from their cloud?

Switched the throttle blips in m to -50% and noticed a massive shift improvement in sport+ and m mode. Car would lurch forward so hard on a downshift. Car seems to actually shift quicker now.

I have a 2018 M40i and just bought a license today. I’m trying to connect my iPad Air via ENET cable and USB-C adapter (what I use for BM3) and can’t get it to connect to the car. I tried the auto and manual IP address settings, and hav8ng the car in diagnostic mode versus regular. Nada. Any tips?

Update: I finally got it to work. I used the IP address settings from the manual on my iPhone, turned off Wi-Fi but left my cellular turned ON. That was enough to get it to read the car and check for compatibility. I then had to disconnect from the car to enter my license key, then it prompted me to download my OTS maps.

Then I reconnected with my phone, this time on airplane mode and with Wi-Fi off. I was able to flash without issue.

Bummer I couldn’t get it to work with my iPad, which is what I use for bootmod3 and bimmercode. But at least it’s working. Hopefully this helps someone.

Is there any "tune" for newer BMW that won't void warranty?
