Only if it's not encrypted. I think they encrypt everything so that you can only view it using their proprietary desktop viewer. But I will have a play around and let you know

I haven't given up on providing a download as I could potentially record my desktop whilst viewing it but I'm not sure what the quality will be like

I'm pretty sure we have some sharp I.T. forum members that could assist if need be...
edit: It looks like the easiest solution is to use analog out to a PC capture card then encode to dvix. Too bad you are across the pond I think I've got an analog USB capture device kicking around. Last edited by lbjgh; 02-10-2012 at 10:09 AM.. |

This aired before I bought my X3 and therefore was not looking for it and I missed it.
What I don't understand is, why it is so difficult to see? If I miss an episode of anything else. I can literally download it and watch it the day after it airs. That is not to mention that on cable channels usually programs repeat ad infinitum. This show was never re-aired, and it can not be purchased or viewed at any price. In fact, there is little to no evidence on the Nat Geo website that it ever existed at all, with the exception of a 3 minute clip. It is nowhere to be found on Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, or Nat Geo. I can find 25 year old episodes of St Elsewhere, or the episode of 30 Rock that aired last night with ease. What is so damn special about this program? |

[tin foil hat] National Geographic must have aired some trade secret and Fritz over at BMW eliminated all evidence of the show [/tin foil hat]

A few too many pages to read so my comment might have been discussed: having watched the Ultimate Factory X3 on the UK channel I was impressed and concerned that all our F25 only have 4L of colour paint and, if I recall correctly only one colour coat?
I think I had better remove the bird shit a bit quicker and not rub so hard with the chamois |

This is one of those "green solutions" that makes sense. I am opposed to mandated / feel good "green" solutions like solar power and what not that doesn't actually offer real financial benefits. Recycling, methane power (BMW gets a good portion of the plants power from methane extracted from a landfill), and combination primer / paint offer both financial and environmental advantages. Win win.

I didn't mean to say I opposed it, but that there are disadvantages we have to live with. Easier chips in the paint from stones and the like and, as the other poster suggested, perhaps susceptibility to bird shit stains or the like.

While I was searching for comparison tests for the X3 I came across the airing of the Ultimate Factories episode. In my search for the episode I came across this thread. I'm surprised it has yet to be found, so I went hunting myself.
If you use the usual torrent mediums, and search for the episode under the UK name 'Megafactories'. You will find it. I did a simple search of 'Megafactories BMW X3' and was able to find it. It is SD, but still watchable. Good luck in your quest for the elusive X3 episode! |
