Not that I can find.
A quick google search and it seems as though the answers are all over the place depending upon which app you are trying to restore a purchase from. Yikes...

THough I think I've read someone having issues like yours (possibly google for it). My memory is really bad but I think I remember it said he contacted him and they got it fix.

I'll play around with my old phone to see if I can install it there and see if it shows it as registered.

I've never had success transferring manually transferring apps to SD and get the setting working (specifically talking about transferring game data from one phone to other). Typically I end up installing the app, and then copy over the data on the new phone with the old phone data..

I sent Stephan an email.
Hopefully he will send me an access code so I can use the app with the new phone.
I'll let you know.

I never coded anything on either of my M3s since my dealership said that if there was a problem that BMW could void the warranty. It seems like more and more people are coding now that it's easier with the Bimmercode app.

Has anyone actually had any issues with warranty getting voided due to coding? (I did try to search but there are endless threads on coding and I didn't see anything obvious about the warranty) And do you guys always revert your code back to default prior to service? I think they could see that changes were made either way so that probably doesn't hide anything.

I use iPhone and I can back up everything (including App data) on either my laptop (which I prefer, since the copy is local under my control) or iCloud. My previous phone upgrades never gave me any issues as long as I backed things up just prior to phone purchase, and then 'restore' my new phone with the latest copy of back up and all is good to go.

One thing also to consider, I don't upgrade phone frequently so my existing phone will have poor trade in value (< $150). I usually keep the old phone or give them to my kids as 'toy' to play games or use as music iPod. Maybe if I keep the old phone, even without cellular connection, and use WiFi for communication I can still use it for Bimmercode. Would be good to get a confirmation from developer though...

Question is will the bimmercode app along with the restore settings all go onto the new phone? I'd hate to try to restore something and not be able to because it didn't transfer from the old to the new phone. Then I'd be stuck.
I have Bimmercode on my google pixle 3 and was able to download it as well on one of my android tablets. I did it by going to the playstore under my apps/library. I don't think it transfers or stores data (codes) between devices.
I would take screen shots of your codding before you switch over to the new device. Also coding in bimmercode only codes things you click on.
Code also one at a time not a whole bunch together.

Since my car did not have wireless charging, which includes Enhanced Bluetooth and the ability to show SMS texts, I was able to get Office coded on Expert Mode through Bimmercode on my iPhone. Took a few tries and searching the other BMW forums but was able to get it done. Thanks to @pej7445 for some help too!

Here's what I did...

HU_NBT_EVO > HMI 3000 > OFFICE_MENUS_ACTIVE = aktiv (this was the main step I missed and did not allow the office option to show in iDrive)
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > EMAIL_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > SMS_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > CONTACTS_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > CALENDAR_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > TEXT_NOTES_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > AUDIO_NOTES_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > REMINDER_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > TASK_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > PIM_BILDER_EIN_AUS = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE 3003 > MACRO_PIM = aktiv

On top of this I was able to code:

ASD Off
ASS to remember last setting
M Start Animation
Warning at start up OFF

Ordered MX+ yesterday. Pick up M40I on Sunday. I still have to purchase the bimmercode app. I need to read back through this monster thread to remember all the items you can configure to your liking.

Question for the newbies? Did you find the coding made sense and easy to do or difficult and scared the hell out of you?

This is my first BMW and my first expensive to me new car. I don’t want to screw it up right away. I ordered the harness to kill the ASD after reading that thread. First up to code will be ASS off. Thanks, Brian

Coding via BimmerCode is super easy. As long as you stay out of the advanced mode you really can't screw anything up. It's all straightforward and tells you what it does.

I only coded two things so far (ASD off, startup warning off) but found it super easy and safe.

Was anyone able to confirm the steps necessary for Enhanced Bluetooth? There were some ideas how way back around pages 15-21 but nothing that I saw was confirmed.....however it is possible I missed something in the 30+ pages since.
Thanks for all of your help and contributions to this forum.

The specific expert mode options were outlined in my reply a few posts back.

Probably need to be careful using 2 different devices to code, I found a backup folder on my phone the other day, there were quite a few files in there, these of course wont be transferred between devises thus if you change something on one then go to another I'm not sure you'll be able to restore items you haven't changed on that new device.

It may not be completely relevant, but I have been able to copy to a Windows 10 desktop almost anything from my Pixel 2 and the files would then be available to transfer to a new (Android) phone as necessary. FWIW

How do you guys code video in motion? It doesn't work with BimmerCode neither with Carly. After I press on the up button for a few seconds nothing shows.

It took me two trys to get it to activate. Do it once then the app will ask you to retry. After the 2nd time a menu pops up on the screen.
