I'm glad the US cars don't have them. I think they look dinky, small, kinda dumb and out of place. There are already too many M things on this non-M car. I probably would have taken them off if they came on the car.

USA loses out on several thing due to cost cutting or regulatory such as acoustic glass, M Sport seats, Selective Beam anti dazzle headlights, fender badges, no tailgate comfort opening with towing/hitch option etc |

I like the little M badges. I’m a big fan of not messing with the badging on my cars. How it came from the factory is how I like to leave it. I just got lucky in that I have one of the early build LCIs that got the badges by mistake

That aside... does anyone know if remote start can be set to start the car with a specific temperature? It sets to my last default setting... this doesn't seem prudent as the car cools off after you drive a while.

Can someone give me the basics on ETJA? I have read all I can find and watched a variety of videos, but I’m still not entirely sure how it works from what I understand, I have to have the steering assistant on for ETJA to be triggered if certain conditions are met. Is that right?

Has anyone tried adding the BMW Led door light projectors to their 2022's or 2023 X3s? Thinking about where I park in the winter when I travel up north a little extra light would be a good thing.

I think mine has blanking plates installed. I'll take another look later this morning, but nothing's lighting up on the bottom of the door.
Edit - I looked last night. Blanking plates on both sides. Since BMW USA sells the lights I'm hoping the wires are still there. Glad the car came with tires. Last edited by lfdal54; 09-20-2022 at 06:28 AM.. |

Afaik with the LCI adaptive matrix LED headlight tech they are no longer needed. I assume this isn’t affected by the selective beam decoding on US spec models which dumbs down the tech.

The first time I hit coastal fog I guess I'll find out. Interesting that Audi went the other way on the Q5 even including rear fog lights at least in the prestige edition.

Audi has been including rear fogs in their US-Spec cars for years. I’m not sure why BMW chooses to leave them off of their US vehicles. They are helpful in foggy conditions. I guess maybe because most Americans don’t understand their function and turn them on all the time when they are not needed, which causes unnecessary dazzling of vehicles behind them.

Agreed about people using them unnecessarily. I only needed them a few times on my F25, but was glad to have them. If I knew when I was going to hit fog I'd take the Audi since I don't have a lot of faith that BMW didn't dumb down the adaptive headlights for the US market. |

Does anyone drive with the driver assistance items off-
I have my car by default set to late collision warning, 0 steering intervention and medium Blind spot. The assistance icon is red in my car... I hate any of the assists which is why I could not get the driver assistance pack under any circumstance. I also have auto start stop coded out lol... I think the only useful features with regards to safety (outside of standard items such as ABS, traction, stability) are blind spot warning, rear traffic cross alert and rear camera... everything else really seems like more of a paying attention type of thing.
