It looks great john and like I said, I like the front and back styling a lot but the wheels do appear smaller to me, particularly the back ones - I've tried to show this in the picture below. It's more of an issue with lighter colours. I really like the CB M Sport but I wouldn't buy another black car, particularly not with BMW's fragile paint.
I like your VR M Sport (looks better with no xline) and I think the CB M Sport and the AW M Sport (but only with 20" alloys) both look fantastic. I'm not bashing the M Sport, just trying to say why it's not for me. X5 M Sport all the way just not X3. If we all liked the same there would be no colour choice, style choice or any options and it wouldn't invoke these debates. I'm all for it

100% with you on the xenons. They make a huge difference. I still haven't seen an MSport in the flesh. I'm come clean and post an update if I see one and change my mind!

After 1103 posts on this thread since 25-Jan-11 when sfax started it all, is it time for one of those Reviews like they do on the telly? The high points and low points. I have looked through the various names of UK-based posters who have ordered an F25 X3 and listed them below in order of appearance (a sad waste of time I guess, but I will be waiting for 8 months for my new car, so forgive me (only 3 more months to go - but who's counting). Best wishes for Christmas to all the posters.

I'm with SFAX on the rarity pleasure. I live south of Manchester and only see an (F25) X3 very rarely. And have never seen a 3.0D MSport. Sort of hope it lasts.

Great summary X3_all_about_time
This thead had 'matured' over its lifecylce. All that very informative stuff from sfax as an early adoptor then all the members images of F25 parked on driveways. Now we have a wealth of images and details on spec and ordering I see the forum moving to 'living with your F25'. No doubt more maintenance info for those DIYer and real world experiences etc will come next year. The low for me was the waiting and then the Japan earthquake and reports of more delays. The highs, now the car is a regular drive, are the deisgn and driving satisfaction. |

I've just seen the powered bootlid on an X5 and now I'm wondering if I should add this option to my X3 35d m sport? Anyone else opted for powered bootlid operation?

I have ordered comfort access that includes the bootlid.
I liked it on the test drive, but beware low ceilings in car parks! You can set the opening gap in iDrive but easily forgotten. It didn't do any damage though. Of all the extras on my car I think it is the least necessary but will be handy when running the family taxi service to rugby, orchestra etc. |

I have this on my Q5 and have ordered it for the X3. In this country when the whether is crap most of the year, the back of the vehicle takes the brunt of all the road dirt deposits. Never having to touch the bootlid when loading and unloading saves messy hands numerous times! it is also very cool

having had time to think about adding the bootlid option ... I'm going to take the plunge - my excuse will be similar to dnw's which is no more dirty hands!!
thanks for the feedback |

x3-About-Time, It's a good list, and I was happy to see my name was not last on it although I felt like I should have been.
I feel very lucky today, the 23rd of December, as I've just been able to pick up my own X3 after waiting since the 6th of June order. While you may have another 3 months to go, I know you'll be as proud as punch, as I am to own and drive one of these great cars All the best, and merry Christmas Ron |

Merry Christmas to all and thanks for the kind words. This has been and continues to be the best forum I have had the privilege of being a member of. Loving the car - best I've ever had. Highlight of this week - Quote me happy insuring me & the wife for £260 for 2012. Great value, noting £600 total excess.
PowerBoot is super but opens fast enough to spill any water in right side boot edge in the car if parked on a downward slope. Still great arriving at the car, dumping stuff in the open boot tho. Best wishes for 2012 X3 owners and I suspect I know what Santa drives on Ruddolf's day off. |

When I ordered there were no details about a larger engine size than a 2l, but I'm really happy with it now I'm working the engine more after 2K miles. In fact, there's only one thing that annoys me, so trivial but it's the radio, it keeps playing until I lock the car, not on ignition turnoff. Is there anything I wish I had spec'd - just the HID lights, but I thought I'd spent enough at the time - also aquired a BMW 1200 GSA this year so couldn't hide both bills!!! The last Beemer I owned was a series 3 tourer about 5 years ago, and I am really pleased with the build ths time round. How are any of you cleaning the seats - Oyster, my denims seem ok so far, any tips on frequency or product anyone??? High points Walking into the dealership placing an order last march. Collecting in late November after being given 3 days notice. Finding out after signing for the car that it had been behind me all of the time under a black cover with a big red bow on it. Low points Getting out after a journey! Merry Christmas everyone
