Why do we keep parroting the "lol huge, chunky X3, get an X5" sentiment? The base X5 will probably run at a similar price point to the X3 M50; these cars are not comparable.
Those who were in the market for a sporty G01 X3 M40i probably never even considered an equally-priced base X5 for a plethora of reasons, whether it be sportiness, usage of trunk space, leg room, engine offerings, etc. The X3 was never meant to have air suspension; that's reserved for the $75k+ X5 and onward, which is a drastically different SUV segment.

YouTuber in the 2nd video in English version video should not be allowed to test drive the X3M version since he prefers the current M40i version and talks down on the ///M version!

If we're just talking segment, the SQ5 and Macan both have optional air suspension. |

I am not a fan of the air suspension as well but ended up changing the stock suspension on my previous cars about 4-6 year mark on a traditional suspension setup.

I personally think the current X3 is the best one yet, which gives the new one alot to compete with.
Unfortunately the big curved display is a deal breaker for me. My F30 has the best interior ever, with all the buttons and a perfect sized i-drive screen! |

Probabaly been mentioned already somehwere in the 5 pages.
BMW blog: It is probably going to be called M50, but they won’t tell me yet. BMW Engineer: Says M50 when he talks about the drivetrain etc In the offroad part the cover of the trim was missing on the center console, you could see that it seem to have the same ”light bar / emotion bar” as in the new 5-series. |

The interior should be almost exact copy to the one in 5 series now. Maybe slight difference because it's different car but overall should be the same. As I was given the new 550e for a 2 week test I have to say Interior wise I was not happy. Not happy because of what I've been used to for the last 15 years with BMW. It feels very plastic and the new idrive is a nightmare if you need to make changes while driving. It looks very cool I admit and makes old gen of idrive dated but doesn't mean it's more functional. Buttons will always be more suitable for human to interact with than sensor screens. The G01 is as big as the first gen X5 so I guess this one will be as big as the second gen X5?

I don't think next gen interior will ever be able to grow into what we are all used to, though adding at least preset buttons and bringing back shifter and maybe adding some kind of a hood over the slab of tablet for cluster might make the cut. Until then, I will have to consider other makers or hold onto my 24 m40i as long as possible.

I have a 23 X3M that still has buttons and a 24 X5M that has almost none. Drives me crazy not have physical controls but in no way prevents me from upgrading as soon as the next X3M comes out. New models usually start the same exact way. Hate it, BMW lost their way, never getting it, keeping my old one until it dies, it’s growing on me, put down a deposit…

The elongated display isn't as pleasing to the eyes but those who like to tinker with the infotainment will probably have their day in the sun lol. Only reason to have that much screen is to make it easier to access some additional functions without drilling down to sub-sub-sub menus and much easier to assembly just laying on top of the dashboard are what I can think of. Oh well, awaiting the specs for the G45 and will decide whether going for use 2022-2024 will be a better choice though ADAS alone on the G45 will likely be superior to the outgoing G01. |

If new X3 looks like iX or new 5er - will keep my 23 X3 or move on to different brand. Also the C&D review called out interior for being very cheap and being developed during Covid which is not a good sign. |

I am happy NOT to have air struts or bags in our G05 and F95 as it’s not if, but when, that they fail.

the youtuber isn't wrong. the x3m suspension is straight up dog shit. the x3m suspension is nearly universally despised. I know I owned one for a few months and the ride quality was abysmal that I couldn't wait to get rid of it.
