So the inner DRL can be accessed just by lifting the hood and removing some plastic covers (10 min job). However The outer DRL you need to lift the car, remove wheel, wheel liner, partially remove the bumper and move the headlight in order to get to the other module.

Fyi there is another vendor on ALI now whose modules look exactly like the Bayoptiks ones. I ordered a set a few days ago. Will report once I get them installed. $175.

The outers are a pain in the butt. Also, others haven't mentioned, but I found out this weekend, when removing your inner fender, you have to pop out 4 plastic rivets. They're real rivets and are one use only, so, before you start this, source at least 8 of those rivets from Amazon or someone else. I'm saying at least 8 because it is 4 per side, but we ended up losing 2, due to them being cheap. I say cheap, because in a panic, I went to Amazon on Saturday afternoon to source rivets that would be delivered the next day. Ideally, if I ever have to do this again, I would go to BMW and get a bunch of their rivets before I start pulling it apart. Last edited by thatguyfromthatshow; 04-17-2023 at 10:01 AM.. Can’t say I’m a fan of the jaundice look, but to each his own, but I think if these came this way oem from factory, this thread would be retitled to “changing to bright white drl’s”

it’s in reference to the recent CS models (namely the M5 CS, M4 CSL, M3 CS). if those special edition models didn’t come with the yellow lights this trend wouldnt have taken off.

Finally got around to installing my yellow DRLs and noticed I only had 2 boards in my packaging . That pretty much put the project on hold until I could get an answer . I received an answer that my 2021 only has 1 board for each side . Question I have is the location of the module itself . Is it located in the same place as the '22+ models ?

Reached out to icedriver yesterday when it happened and they said they will send yet another replacement board. If they don't send it out with a business day or so I'll be reverting back to stock. Too much of a headache at this point unfortunately. |

I honestly don't know what that means but I'm sure they are just grabbing a board from inventory and shipping it out. It may just be that I'm unlucky. |

But 3x come on, that's not just coincidence. Is it the same board/location every time?

2nd and 3rd replacements were only for my driver side turn signals. My passenger side boards have been fine since the 1st replacements were sent so I do believe they produce functioning, nondefective boards. |

I received my set but haven’t installed them yet, will try this weekend and post up some pics. Anyone know how to remove the factory boards from the heat sink? I don’t want to ruin the factory boards if I want to go back to stock. Any advice would be appreciated. I’m sure some will say just don’t bother
