Not sure what you mean. As far as I can see from your VIN (BMW and Netify App) there is only one Technical Enhancement defect code relating to RAM.

Where is the other showing ?

So was it just the 6p1 for the reason you was held up so long by this?

No, I don't have S6P1 option on my VIN but you do.

It sounds like there are two separate things going on with your car.

1) is the "S6P1 Temp. Entfall Remote Software Upgradeoption" that shows on your VIN as an option. I don't have this, and my understanding is this should have some software update fix later in the year. This is not classed as a Recall or Technical Enhancement.

2) is the Technical Enhancement defect code 0065480300 Retrofitting the receiver audio module. This is a recall/technical enhancement that AFAIK triggers a delivery stop until the hardware is retrofitted. This isn't related to S6P1.

Ok, that sort of clears it up…. I just assumed it was all related to the 6p1 Wi-Fi function as that's all I was told was missing up until this point

LOL I wouldn't like to comment on the "ready to be shipped", but the VIN status is closed, so AFAIK the outstanding work has been completed.

Mine was VIN status closed 24/2, but no further shipping update........

I would estimate so far it's added at least 6 weeks and counting.

My car has a VIN build date of week 1 December 2021. I was told status 165 around 20/12, and delivery was w/c 24/1, then 7/2, then 14/2, then ...... I was still being told delivery to dealer w/c 14/2 during w/c 14/2 !

I've been told the Technical Enhancement work was completed 24/2 and it no longer shows on the recall checker.

What a nightmare! Cheers for your input with all this.

I've got an estimated delivery date mid April, can only pray it's delt with before/on route to the UK, unlikely though going from all your dramas

I don't know if this is a "fact" but I've been told that the RAM retrofitting takes place in Bremerhaven, Germany, for all cars coming from USA & SA.

Maybe cars with a retrofit stay on a Vessel that docks at Southhampton and go onto Bremerhaven. Usually from USA, they go to Bremerhaven before UK, not sure about SA.

LOL You are not alone. My dealer claimed not to be aware of the delivery stop until I told them !

I've noticed Genius is providing less and less detail, and just saying contact the retailer.

My build was this week, week 9. I requested the VIN on Tuesday. It was showing no sale stops or issues until today when code 6000- send for Distribution changed. We're probably on the same delivery etc to UK

My knowledge and experience of these types of 'retrofitting' would realise that this concession would be carried out by technicians within the port of vehicle delivery. It would not be cost effective to remove vehicles from the boat for rework and then to drive them back onto the carrier for shipping to country of delivery, potential for damage, logistics, costs etc, etc.

BMW like most manufacturers will have teams of technicians carrying out a myriad of tasks at port of entry including component shortage retrofitting.

Just relaying what BMW Customer Services told me, but if you know better.

Been told on several occasions that my car is at Bremerhaven, in fact for a number of weeks, and I don't think RoRo vessels bound for UK dock for that long. Clearly, I'm not a German customer, so it would need to get to the UK.

Also told my retail status will not change from 9000 until the car exits Bremerhaven.

I just assumed that as I was told 6p1 is a retro fit at a later date, that's what this new code was, both mentioning retrofitting…..

Correct.

Look at your VIN on mdecoder.

You will see S6P1 is an option code showing something being removed, albeit temporarily in the case of S6P1. It's similar to S6UX Entfall Touchfunktion BMW Controller, or S48Z DEL.FR.PASS.LUMBAR SUPP./FR.PASS.BWA, also on your VIN, except these are permanently deleted, whereas S6P1 may be fixed via a future software update, either OTA or dealer.

The "0065480300 - Retrofitting the receiver audio module code" is a BMW recall/technical enhancement campaign, which requires additional hardware retrofitting by BMW before being delivered to your dealer. RAM is related to the HK audio or other audio options.
