Considering the aerodynamic advantages (front end and 'aero wheels') of the iX3 , it will be interesting to see how much they've lowered the Cd. Considering the G01 X3 30i's Cd is only 0.29, it would seem possible they're reaching 0.25? For a vehicle this size that would be quite remarkable.

Pricing will be king. If someone walks in a BMW dealership looking for a regular X3 2.8i at around $50-60k and is presented with a choice of all electric 250 mile range for $60k, they will be tempted. The Jag will be expensive, and with questionable reliability despite the reduced number of parts in an EV. They’ll find a way to make it break down. Battery is the biggest single expense in an EV. There is nothing stopping BMW from putting a 90kw battery in it, or even bigger, for a sportier more expensive model later on. Let’s see how it develops.

Going to jump on the but it looks like a Kia!! bus because we don't want BMW to go too far down this design road. Kidney grills should be lifted and separated.

Not just the grill, the whole front bumper looks like copied from KIA. I think this goggles kidney design may look good with standard vertical fins instead of Kia like mesh grill.

It's due 2020, will have a 75kwh battery and have CCS, so fast charging are supported. I've heard i3X is inext, the name doesn't live up to what we so far have seen... Hopefully there will be more info soon

Excellent specs I think really, if access to fast charging will exist. 250 miles - 30 minute fast charge - great sign me.
This to me looks EXCELLENT, I really like it....but that's obvious as it is just an X3 which I already like. All the hype about a next gen model...its the all electric X3 isn't it??? Still if production stays true the air vents are all 'very current M car' which of course is great...but will they remain. Time will tell.

I'm really looking forward to knowing the electric range of the PHEV X3 and 2020 X5. I have the X5 40e and traded my i3 on a 330e in 2017 because of the lousy ride comfort on Houston's potholed streets. If I had an electric range of 40 miles, rather than the current 15 miles, I could do all of my non-trip driving in electric and still have an ICE for trips. I think I'm still at a PHEV for my next round of leases in 2020, despite the fact that I'm hauling around the full ICE, because of the lack of 150 KW charging stations. Perhaps in 2023 I'll be ready to go full electric.

The 400km is definitely disappointing... otherwise this probably would have been on the top of my list for an electric SUV in the next 4-5 years.
And to everyone saying it looks like a Kia... stop exaggerating; I'm not a huge fan of the design either but it does NOT look like a Kia. The new M2 competition and next gen 3 Series (G20/G80) already have kidney grills connected in the middle.
