I always go into iDrive > COM and disable wifi and Bluetooth, in addition to airplane mode.

You can also disable CarPlay on your iPhone for a while.

Settings -> General -> Carplay -> Toggle off

So, after evaluating mine for a few nights it definitely seems to be working. No one has flashed me. However, maybe it's that the lights on the X3 are just not that amazing because to see it happening I've had intentionally look for the light channeling and same for oncoming cars. It's not really a night and day difference but it was certainly an easy enough to do.

I wonder if the lights are different in the US market or the mod doesn’t do a full conversion ? It really noticeable.

They do down code the overall brightness of the lights overall in the US because of our stupid government regulations. I wish there was a way to undo that coding but I've never seen that.

Where would we be without government regulations.

I love the country but we sure have some stupid laws. It wasn't until just the past few years where Congress finally approved that the cars could come with all of this light bending channeling stuff So that this would just come on cars from the factory. But probably won't actually start seeing on cars for who knows a few more years

It's been legal for a year or two. Somehow I don't see BMW making it happen anytime soon. I think there are somehow more legal hoops to still jump through. But otherwise yes, it would be a simple enough software update.

It's really noticeable in my car. Especially on back roads where there is no other illumination. The only time I can't tell the difference is on the highway. On the highway you can see it trying to turn on one of the extreme right or left side LEDs, but it doesn't do much since highways around here are pretty well lit.

I don't think the lights are down coded. There's people on the G05 side that have purchased Euro spec lights, just plugged them in, and a big difference in light output. Then they had Anti-Dazzle coded, and it's another big difference (better).

The lights themselves have something like half the wattage that our friends across the pond get.

I thought it was a coding thing but perhaps if it's a hardware thing that explains why no one has been able to code them brighter.

Yea, people are spending a couple thousand to do this retrofit. I gave it a brief thought, and said it wasn't for me. It'd be my luck that something happens to where one of the headlights get broken and I gotta source a new euro spec.

If it's as simple for the G05 I'm sure it'd be as simple for the G01.

Yeah definitely not worth a few thousand dollars for me. Would be nice to have, but not for that price. I have a hard enough time to talk myself into the crazy expensive aspherical side mirrors

Think that’s with the laser lights and (believe it or not) FDA regulations that limit their output.

I got flashed tonight! this is the 2nd time I am out at night since I coded this anti-dazzle function, 1 out of 2 IS bad. The road was a bit tricky, the on coming car was going uphill and I was going downhill, so maybe my sensors didn't see his headlights to dim the highbeams in time. Anyone else got flashed since you turned on this feature?

None for me yet and I've had it for at least a week worth of nights now.

Same here, I can’t imagine any scenario where it would be any more or less flummoxed if it were just simply on auto.

I honestly think this is why it's important to code all the parameters in all of the modules (including KAFAS if you have access). It's what the factory coding intended and likely fine tunes for all the potential scenarios.

For what it's worth, I haven't been flashed once in just over an year since coding.

I'd like to know everything coded for the "full-up" feature implementation. I've been paying to get mine coded and have been very happy with the results. Given the length of time the coder is logged into my system, I have to think he's making more than just a couple of adjustments. I do get a couple of other things coded, but I believe that time is minimal.
