I can’t say I regret getting my ID6 X3m if this is going to be the way it looks.
I can’t fathom why they would not just give an option for the analog style gauges? Surely they realize those buying performance vehicles appreciate the classic view. |

I would be fine if my car came with ID7 but not going to lose any sleep over it as ID6 is amongst the best systems out there still. Worst thing will be the addition of silver buttons all over the interior. I thought that silver fad was over long ago.

I was messing around with the settings for the dash layout and just couldn’t find anything to my liking. I did however like the album art overlay if you have it set to display the entertainment option. That was cool. The map was useless..the fact you have to look down and take your eyes off the road...no thanks. Looking at the HUD or I drive screen is better. I turned off the map. When I switched between comfort and sport I expected a drastic display change...it was subtle at best. I can learn to get past all that... but I don’t think I can ever get used to the tach and speedometer gauges. |

Doesn't really matter to me since I mainly look at the heads up display.

When at speed above 5 mph the driver cannot switch from auto to parking lights only during night driving; example - if you are driving back into your neighbor hood late and don’t want to light up houses. That is only one point behind having an actual manual switch. Further, the driver again has to take eyes off the road, & look to the lower left for something unnecessary. The auto “feature” works well as does an automatic slush-box. Put those switches in regular bmw’s...fine, but not ///M cars.

I agree. Anything is possible with digital technology and this is the best the designers can do? The counterclockwise indication for an increasing parameter, in this case RPM, makes absolutely no sense.

Exactly. No clock spins backwards except for in wonkaland where the weed is strong.

Haven’t seen anything in 7 to make me want the right to left tach. Prefer the digital dash with the analog feel so glad I got one before it went to the full digital without the round speedo/tach accents.

I think the digital dash in the current car and the f90 M5 before it was upgraded was a perfect evolution of their traditional look into a full digital display. Glad I have it. I can't believe they don't give all the M cars the m8 sport display option... that's disappointing. |

I don't think that's as good as what Audi and MB offer but I could live with this setup as although the dual tachs look a bit strange it's pretty straightforward. Problem is that everytime you start your car the display defaults to the counterintuitive regular display and you have to be in an M-mode to get that display. I don't understand why BMW is so restrictive with their LED displays as the competition offers far more customization of their LED screens.
