I agree. It seems like the previous driving mode rocker switch was a more solid design, but I can see how that would be problematic with the added "Individual" modes that are now available. Seems like individual buttons for Sport, Comfort, and Eco (and Adaptive) would have been a better implementation, but I am guessing that cost/aesthetics were the driving factors.

-Writing with my finger using the touchpad on top of the iDrive selector knob
-The alarm goes off if I leave something (like a radar detector) plugged into the OBD port -TPM tells me to fill the tires to different pressures than listed on the inside of the door depending on tire temp -There's a car wash setting that helps line the tires up in the tracks, in case I decide to abuse my car by driving it through an automated car wash for some reason -I've been conditioned to look to the center console for the lock/unlock button, and have a moment of panic when I realize I don't know what I'm doing

For those of us who live in the UK/Europe I wonder if that can also be used as a "Boarding the EuroTunnel" setting?

Has anyone else been able to get an iOS device working with iDrive texting when Apple CarPlay is built in the car?

I also just found out that the wireless charging tray comes with a signal booster if you registering it with your cell carrier. It seems it will not boost otherwise, although I'm not 100% on the won't work if not registered piece.

Radar detector in OBD2 Port? That's a new one... I know if I leave something like my OBD2 scanner plugged in the alarm goes off, why is yours connected to the OBD2?

I can't recall ever having to add air in on the original tires for any other car. Even my last BMW. Certainly never after putting on Costco tires where they inflate with nitrogen. But I've never had run flats before either. |

It's the power source instead of hard wiring it or having it plugged into the 12V jack. I was trying to go with a clean, stowed look instead of the 12V, but didn't want to put in the effort of hard wiring. Seems I'll have to hard wire for my desired results...

Spent some time reading about twin scroll turbo chargers. I actually thought there were two separate turbo chargers. Extremely well done youtube videos on how the turbo works. Now I understand why the tubo lag almost does not exist. Great engineering.

First I read about maybe having to register the signal booster with a cell carrier. I bet if I called my carrier (Verizon), they will laugh at the idea?

You can also rotate the HUD in the iDrive settings to help see the display with polarized eyewear. For the record I hate polarized lenses for anything except boating. |
