Does anyone remember or know this funky group out of Germany? I used to dig them when I was young. They were ahead of their time.

Not really a jazz fan, but I can appreciate a good musician when I hear them and that is a very good piano player.

I like the trumpet playing as well. I played trumpet in Jr. high school and got pretty good at it. Became the 1st trumpet at my school. Played for a couple of years until someone broke into my school locker and stole my trumpet.

Loved this song when I was a kid playing trumpet. Remember it? Thought Al Hirt was the best back then. Remember the Green Hornet TV series? I don't think it ran for more than a season or two. And Bruce Lee as Kato?

A trumpet player who doesn't like jazz.

Jazz can put your head in a nice place. But some of it can drive you up a wall!

Acker Bilk and his band was the leading jazz musician over here once,sometimes he wore a bowler hat as he played.

When I was a kid and played trumpet I liked all kinds of trumpet music, including jazz, but that was decades ago. My tastes have changed since then and I don't really like it anymore. Also used to like marching band music because of my trumpet playing. Don't like that anymore either.

PS - can still appreciate a good trumpet when I hear it, though.

A lost love.
"Big Log" is a mythical, extended metaphor for a lost love: "My love is in league with the freeway... ... It is the book in which their road hours are logged, therefore the connection between the road and love and the countless hours we all log on both.
