From here it is in GSP's hands of whether or not he can defeat Silva, or the judges defeat Silva.

But I think you are definitely right, his technical ability is so strong, the fact Silva is a little bigger isn't going to make a huge difference in my opinion. I suspect GSP will get to 195 natural weight before this fight and cut 10 lbs. I suspect Silva is 200-205 at his natural weight when he is fighting at 185.

It's so stupid. There are a few good ones but it only takes one bad judge to screw things up.

Lol everyone wants to be the person to knock him out. I'm sure whoever does it first will have an even bigger fanbase than before. I know Okami is the no1 contender, not sure who else I'd put in the mix, maybe Wanderlei after he wins another fight? Either way, I'd love to see Silva add Bisping to his highlight reel and make a mockery of him Griffin style

Gsp's current walk around weight is 192. Silvas is 222. There will be a MAJOR strength difference. I really beleive gsp goes down with the first set of strikes silva lands. Silva has five guaranteed shots at doing this with the beginning of each round. On the ground gsp is dominant and silva has finished all wrestlers of his back so I give that area a 50/50. Silvas chances are far better than gsp's.

I've heard various reports about Anderson's weight, I have heard 215-220 before but recently I'm hearing 190-200. Don't know what to believe. I'll see if I can ask a friend who has trained with Team Black House.
How it is possible is off-season, 6 months of cutting weight, obviously 30+ lbs is not water weight.

No way does Silva walk into the Octagon ring at 220+ GSP probably walks into the Octagon before the fight at 185-190. I couldn't see Silva being much more than 205 tops on fight night.

13 lbs for my body weight is a lot. My buddy fights at 145 and walks around at about 160. Obviously there is a lot more room to gain in a bigger fighter.

I dont think Anderson walks around 220, thats too much weight to loose for someone his age. Maybe he put on weight for his two fights a LHW but he cant walk around at more than 200-205 now a days.

You did 8-9% Silva going from 222 to 185 is 16-17% Who knows though, maybe Steven Seagal has a special technique for that too

I'm not sure if you guys have seen it but Anderson Silva made an appearance on the TV show Cribs but the Portuguese version.
Anyways, Silva said he weighed 220 in that episode but he looked really big and bloated. I've never seen him like that before. I also think he had a bit of time off too. I'm was always under the impression fighters gain a few pounds when they are not training so first they lose weight - maybe 10 pounds or so, then they begin to cut. In Silva's case I see him realistically exercising and losing weight until he hits around 200-205 and then he cuts from there. |

Anderson does walk around at 220-225. He loves eating frozen foods, junk food and candy. It's only when he trains for fights does he trim the fat down.

There's a ufc brazil interview of him and his house. He goes around talking about his lifestyle, training and his family. He shows the host all over his crib and when he gets to the kitchen, BAM! Shocked the hell out of me haha!

^^ I can see him being 220, but not more. Forrest is one of the biggest light heavyweights and he walks around at 240. You guys remember him in the Ultimate Fighter when it it was chuck and tito/rich. Forrest looked HUGE!

Ive lost 30-40lbs in a 6-8week period getting ready for all natural bodybuiding shows. The first time was hard. Now at age 38, i can cut weight really easy and keep alot of my strenght. Even when i'm a week out from a show and dehydrating, its easy for me to run 3-5 miles a day.
