It was working back when the dealer hooked up the car for a quick diagnostic which was a pleasant surprise.

But the software update will also update the VO as well, so all good.

Yes, only for the ID7 LCI vehicles (2022 MY and newer)

Car > Settings > Remote Software Update

You can also find the RSU version on your MyBMW app as well

Keep in mind, as noted above, it’s only on the ID7 LCI vehicles for RSU.

Wow, this is exciting and thanks for the update. Good to know that the digital key is working. Do you mind to share how much did you spend on those retrofit parts? I am interested in this project and want to understand the cost.

Hi Tim, I wanted to ask you for an opinion on my italian bmw f40 car, produced at the end of 2019, I have a problem with digital key with smartphone, I no longer see the digital key option on the cel but on the car in idrive there is the procedure for connect a phone with digital key, bmw genius after many complaints from me they said that you need to update the car software, mine is a 07/2019.35 and you need a minimum version of 07/2020. But for my car there is no update on the app at the moment. Do you think I can update it without remote update? And I wanted to ask you, if the BMW geniuses say that it is not compatible due to hardware, what hardware modification should be done? And if it is possible to do it? I read your work you did on x3 (Retrofit digital key ) thanks for your time .
