Yeah the "rear beep when backing up if a car is driving across" is the concern I had when I first saw that SERS1 code stating "instead of". YMMV.

Cheers~

I would imagine that can't be removed like the rear view camera... thats legally obligated.

I know the back-up camera is legally mandated, but I don't think rear-cross traffic warning is a requirement. Trying to figure if I need to worry about this on my car.

Looks like the absence of the rails is going to be a take it or leave it thing. They have no incentive to help me since they have a line of buyers.... If I do get this car, it will be my last BMW.

Ordered an X4 30i yesterday and was informed that HUD wasn't available on 2023 X3/X4s. Don't know if that extends to the M40 models.

According to the pricing guide HUD is only available in the M40i and M versions.

I did a new build yesterday for my dealer, no parking assist ZPK or Drive Recorder available. The dealer says these features are not available in the 2023 m40i model any longer. I am assuming this is a parts issue, not a model issue. Is the answer to just wait until it shows up in the configurator?

It's very much a parts issue. It was available for the dealer to add when I received my allocation in July although it was never listed on the configurator. There have been cases over the last 2 years where options weren't showing but the dealer could add. It all depends if the factory allows orders on that and unfortunately it's hard to know and predict the availability of options.

BMW advised me yesterday that I have a Production Number and week 41 (October 9-15) so I think I'm good for now. Everything I ordered and expected is on the build sheet for now.
Just waiting for a #150 status.

From date of order, how long did it take to get your production number? And were you notified by the salesperson at the dealership, or BMW directly? Thanks in advance.

Can you post your build sheet? I think I’m week 42.

Dealerships are allocated limited production slots/numbers. The sales person should provide you with this number. Call and ask for it, if they don't have one you are waiting in line for a production number. I'm in a rush for a car and needed to call three dealers before I found an available production number for a X3 40i.

Usually they will provide the vehicle inquiry report which will list the production number, most recent status, and have a list of all the options currently on the build.

With the production number you can add that to my garage and use that to find out the current build week with the bmw genius. Once it's added you can use the f12 trick (search for this) and you can find out a lot of information. Note your production date is when the vehicle is scheduled to be completed and will be unknown until status 150.

The salesperson did give me a copy of the Vehicle Inquiry Report, but there is only a blank space next to Prod No. He never mentioned anything about an "allocation" and about how that might affect a delivery date. All I know for sure is that he said a Production Number would be forthcoming in two to three weeks. It's now been over a month. I texted him yesterday to ask if there was a number yet. He said that there wasn't. Getting discouraged.
I'm afraid you are still waiting then. I'd ask if there are any ahead of you and see if you want to contact other dealers. September for October allocation should have been released already.

I was just talking with my CA on Friday and be said allocations are getting tight again.

Picked up my X3 yesterday. Ordered in July.

No kick to open tailgate
No digital key.

I don’t care about the key, but the kick to open I do miss.

Okay, thank you for the info. I'll ask my salesguy about the dealer's allocation. He has never mentioned that topic at all.

46 days.

July 21st to sep 6 puts it at 46 days. The Sale person notified me that via e-mail with the production number. I went into "My garage" and verified that I was status #111.
Sill worrisome is hearing some of the missing items happening to some (not all) folks on this forum. Although by Vehicle Inquiry sheet shows everything I'm concerned with (PAP. DR, Lumbar support, HUD, Cargo kit) art there along with the options, I'll feel a whole lot better when the car is build and delivered.

I'm a week 39 and so far have everything I wanted: DAPP, PAP, Drive Recorder, and H/K. One item that was added between my 111 and 150 VIR was 487 Driver Lumbar. One member who had that code had that driver lumbar on their week 36 build. And it turns out the kick to open appears to be back as well.

I know my fingers are crossed, I will be very relieved if all my options are there when I take delivery in a few weeks.

Genius told me "Week 41" (mid Oct). I'm still status #111. Attached is build sheet (same as "design Inquiry"?, I assume). Hope nothing changes at production.

HdEddie, it looks like you should be set to me. Pro tip - add shadowline, it makes a huge difference.

Staying "stealth"

I'm going with the standard shadow line (not extended) as the car will be dark enough (dark graphite) so want to keep a little bling trim to go with the bi-color 669M wheels while staying a stealth daily driver.
No doubt extended shadow line looks great on lighter colored X3 (like Brooklin gray) and with the awesome 21" 718M wheels.
Thanks the same for the tip!
