Unfortunately, the discussion covers replacing the underseat subs and powering with an amp. My intention is to keep them in the system and add a separate sub and amp. Do you happen to know if the TechniquePNP add a sub harness will allow that? I am now a bit concerned that it will bypass the factory subs. ![]() They are still out of stock and the info on their site is not intuitive at all. |

Thanks. In some of those threads it said that you can have both. I hope that is still the case.

I did some more brief testing last night. As per Bavsound the frequency response of the ghost subs is 60Hz-400Hz.
Using a test tone generator, I found that below 100Hz is where they start to rattle/distort. For 8 ohm speakers, the Bass Blockers I found block below 75Hz, 150Hz, 300Hz, or 2,500Hz. I would love to go with the 75Hz but it seems like I would have to go with the 150Hz in order to eliminate the rattle/distortion. Keep in mind I am playing these with the treble as low as it can go (EQ and boost) and the bass flat on the EQ and 2 clicks down on the boost - with my ear right next to the sub. With 100Hz or higher there was no rattle. My only concern with a 150Hz cut off is my to be installed sub box would be reproducing frequencies higher than I usually request of it. My old cut off was 35Hz for the sub. Not sure how this will sound in reality. |

its an x4M40 with HK and all speakers replaced with bavsound, I used the x3 bavsound ghost and mid tweeeters the only issue was the rears were the same size as the doors and they had shipped me smaller ones for there, I called them and they replaced with what I needed. really wished they made an amp but apparently its some BMW specific wire harness that's the issue.

Bavsound had great customer service throughout this experience. Edit - They are supposed to be working on an amp. No ETA though. |
