We have both a 2018 M3 and 2020 X3MC and I can tell you the X3M has a lot more room than the M3. When I say a lot I mean a noticeable amount. We traded a 2018 X5 for the X3MC and we don’t miss the space of the X5 because it wasn’t that mush more than the X3. I would say the space in the X3 is a lot closer to that or the X5 than that of the M3. I’m 6’2” and have two girls 10 and 8. In the M3 I have to move my seat more forward than my normal seat 1 saved position I have it in when I am by myself whereas in the X3M I don’t need to do that. More cargo space, more head room, more elbow room. Not sure how anyone can say “I doubt the X3M has that much more room”. Like I said, we own both and yes there is a substantial difference.

Can anyone chime in on steering weight/ride? I just test drove a 2018 F82 non ZCP and was surprised that it was not that stiff compared to my wife's macan. I will be testing the X3M comp when I can, but curious if steering heaviness and ride quality is similar to the F80/F82? Honestly wanted a bit stiffer. Again I drove a base, maybe ZCP would be the cure.

Steering to me is lighter, more direct and have some feel returning vs f80. I use sport mode for steering for both cars. Ride is stiff and can be very harsh depending on your road conditions.

Interesting you want stiffer steering. It’s not ideal for road feel and tiring when driving spiritedly

I just traded in my M4 for a X3M Competition and just drove from Arizona to San Francisco. I hate to pick a bone with everyone who is complaining about the X3M ride quality but it is NOT as harsh as the M4. SORRY!

While the X3M Comp is still stiff, I still do not think it is as harsh as my M4. I'd say this was a pretty good comparison as I drove down to AZ in my M4 and back to SF in the X3M Comp.

Did aZ have better pricing and trade in values than the bay area?

I'm chasing deals in the bay area and struggling to get morenthan 12% off and lease buy rate before incentives

Got a steal of a deal and they gave me 4K more in trade in for my car. They are definitely trying to off load their 2020's too.
