Yes I got MSS, it improved the suspension a lot but drivability was the issue. “jumpy” throttle and brakes require extra gentle touch which you can’t always do when there’s a lot of traffic.

I hear ya. I have to be really careful with the accelerator because even a very slight depression and sometimes I can cause my wife's head to kick back.

Kind of reminds me of my previous 2010 M3 with the DCT. Wasn't very smooth in stop and go conditions.
I'm glad my X5M doesn't have a DCT.

Now with the Macan Turbo, it really is impossible to do that, I need to really gun the throttle to get much going. It’s almost the polar opposite. The wife loves it. After getting used to it I’m sure I can get back to real spirited driving, but I’m not there yet. In terms of cabin isolation From bumps, with air suspension, 20 inch tires, it rides better than a GLS550, uncanny. I was seriously thinking X3 3.0i M Sport before this. But it rides better than my wife’s X3 3.0i with 18 inch wheels.

I heard “sublime” as a description and I have to agree.

Anyone know what, if any, implications this update has on the DME? Specifically if it flashes a new bootloader which makes the DME unable to be OBDII unlocked.

I believe it does not lock your dme. You can read more about it in the PSA thread though.

Is there a link to where BMW released this update? I am trying to get my dealer to apply this update. Recently brought the car in and they said they did an update but hte version still shows from 20190218

There is a psa thread on here but Bmw does not make these updates public. It's an istep update, but my dealer called it a camera update.

This is the Update I got at the end of March, 03/21. Mine was also original from 2019.

In your car, search on the word Imprint within the Owner's Manual and post your pic.

This doesn't work on ID6 cars. You have to download the driver profile.

Dealers will not perform an update just because there is an update available or someone in the forums said that your car will operate and ride smoother. If that is the case then they will recommend you to pay for an update which is usually 1.0-1.5 hour labor charge.

Software updates are generally only performed when there is an applicable recall or when a component that is being installed requires programming after replacement.

They will play dumb - probably have to tell them to contact BMW, but you'll likely need a reason for the update.

I am aware it's a software update, but you need to be specific with them. They probably just thought I drive update. That's my point.

The reason you have to be specific is if you just ask for a software update, they will look it up in the computer and see nothing, or they'll just do an idrive update or something like that.

I went to the User Manual, scrolled down to "I", then selected Imprint and it pulled up my current version on my 2020 with ID6.

Do you have a screenshot? Just curious. When I do that on mine, it actually says, "ID5."
