The X3/4M just hit dealers in the US just a hair over a year ago. Why is the LCI coming so soon?

I think to lineup with the g01 x3/4 that came out in 18, which is due for LCI treatment

True, but bmw has synced M LCI with the series models for a whole generation across the lineup now (including the unique double LCI for the M3) so it's right on time

The x3/x4 M will almost certainly share the same kidney shape as the series model, much as the m5 does post LCI, the design concept is not to stand out like the M3/M4

No, they are not. They are not even going into the bumper.

Time flies, I felt like it was about 18 months!

Anyone ever see Palbsy around, used to scoop the C cars as I assume lived in a tent outside the factory

This is such a rare model on the streets. I've honestly seen more 6 series GTs than I have this car. It has to be the least sold ///M car.

In real life, going out of your way to say things that might make other people feel depressed is detrimental to career advancement and developing friendships. Not to mention you missed his point.

Agree, sadly. I've grown to accept the X5 and X7 connected grilles, but I still strongly dislike the X3/X4 grilles. Neither have attractive tail lights either, for that matter. X4's are way too thin and boring (G20/G80 have same problem, IMO), and I don't know what to make of the X3's random tail light design. Then again, every generation of X3 has had tail lights that are ugly and weird looking, so I guess they've been fairly consistent with that.

This X4 LCI is looking good. If they totally revise the kidneys and tail lights and also spruce up the interior space a bit, they should actually be able to sell these things!

Totally agree. X3/X4 is way too soft.

Here's a peek at the BMW X3 LCI facelift and X4 LCI facelift grilles, showing neither will receive a G8X M3/M4-like increase in size.

Life Cycle Impulse. Essentially a mid lifecycle refresh.

They used to be mild with some iterative changes to the bumper but BMW is following suit with Merc/Audi/Porsche in making them a bit more significant i.e. 7 series and 5 series with not only changes in headlamps/tail lights and bumpers but kidney grills as well.

That's why I sought out an X4M. I hope it is the least M car sold. I must say I am a little disappointed that this "LCI" is already being tested, and it is maybe 18 months after I was able to get one of the original 2020 X4Ms.

Pretty normal years wise, we've already had 18/19/20 MYs.
MY18 was the previous gen.
Was there a 19' x3,4 M?

Wrong. The last gen X3/X4 was made until 2017. Current models started production in 2018. LCI's will be MY2021

No, no. Current gen hit the dealers in 2018. Previous generation was made until 2017.

Incorrect. F26 ran until March 2018. G02 started Q3 2018 as a 2019. So MY2018 was last gen as I previously stated.

I distinctly remember shopping for a G05 X5 in July 2019 and the dealerships just getting X3Ms at that time.
