I use a DTUK CRD-T+ box on mine, I have used them before and like them as they sit on the boost rail as well as the fuel rail.
I have rolling roaded mine at 224hp and you can really feel the difference. There are 4 settings for power from memory, and I had to get to the most powerful by upping it in stages otherwise I got a sort of pinking and hesitation, but the ecu adapts and lets you keep upping the power. There is also 3 throttle maps too, mine is on the more agressive one, which I just think gives more torque earlier, but it makes the car feel like the throttle is somewhere between comfort and sport while leaving it in comfort if that makes sense? I have always had remaps before, but had the Brabus box on my old E Class and was so impressed with that that I have stopped being so snobby about them. In fact, the Brabus box and the CRD-T+ have been the most impressive upgrades I have had, better than any remap and I have had loads. |

e.g. eBay item number: 222012882542 Also interested in any feedback - hoping that they do more than just cheat on the fuel temp inputs to the original map. |

By the way, no matter what you are told by (some), it is always possible for BMW to tell that the engine has operated outside its parameters. Note. I did not say that it was traceable. Just be aware in case of possible warranty claims on the drive train. Last edited by Peter_R; 04-24-2016 at 04:37 AM.. Reason: typo |

In fact, most recently I had a slightly different system on my 2007 e91 325d M Sport where I had a system produced by a company called VIEZU https://www.viezu.com/ where you connected a box called a V-Switch to the OBD port and had a choice of several maps. The box was not connected all the time, it was connected and the mapping was changed as you dictated and then the box was removed. When the car had to go to the dealer, you just put the original map back on the ECU. The procedure took 20 minutes. Here is the information on the v-switch https://www.viezu.com/v-switch |
