At some point BMW will probably move their inline engines to 48V mild hybrid, belt-less like Mercedes is (starting with their new M256) but that's not likely to happen this decade unfortunately. |

now if you build it up to what the Alfa and Jaguar come standard with including comp package, then it will be $80K (and over for sure depending on options). Right now you can price a M3 from $67K to well over $80K... that is probably how they will justify 450-475 hp vs the 500+ of competitors, lower starting price. |

Could care less what the Macan Turbo costs - $60K vs $100K - would not enter into the equation. It is a great small-size performance 'SAV', but until it's back end can carry what those zero'ed in on a Performance SAV with carrying needs requiring a Cargo Vol minimum 25 cu ft, it can remain with the GLC and Alfa. Right now, it seems the only options are the SQ5 (26.8 cu ft), New Cayenne Turbo (23.6 cu ft and 4,454 lbs), XC60 T8 (29.4 cu ft), although the Urus is getting close at 21.8 cu ft. |

Bwahaha... yes! Me too. I swear, people's dicks must be getting smaller and smaller, because I don't know wdf needs more than 475HP on the track let alone the streets. Make it RWD, make it light, make it sound good, make it reliable and handle like a beast, and give us a real f***ing reason to bother buying an M SUV in the first place.

X3M will likely come in under the Turbo by a bit and outperform it, similar to the M40i/GTS relationship. The wild card is a pending Macan redesign. |

I'm not as tuned into the VAG timelines as I am BMW and Mercedes, but there are mule spy shots, and it looks to me like there are a number of sources that think its coming this year for MY2019. We'll see. Even if it is next year, that basically puts it on the market at the same time as the F97.
