and also I think since the m40 doesn't have the button, then there is no way to code it for remember as there is no button so there is nothing to remember.. I assume it's on or off then all the time? this should be a non issue, why would anyone ever want this on lol?

Yeah, but the OTA updates are a version behind what’s being installed at the factory or through the dealer, as I understand it. I think if you check, you’ll be on 11/2022 software and not the 03/2023 that the OP is having the issue with. So if ASS coding not working anymore is a real thing, when the 03/2023 version rolls out as an OTA update in a few months, anyone who has coded it won’t be happy. I’ll find out myself soon - picking up our 30i the week after next.

^ This. Have my ‘21 programmed to start in Sport Individual, turns off Auto start stop and I have the ability to tweak throttle, suspension etc to my liking.

Its my wife’s car.. dont think she wants it permanently in sports mode.

you are probably correct, i have not checked this... so if this is true, what is the solution, not to update the software? for me its a reason not to do the update lol... also, when you go in for oil at dealer, will they automatically update software? on my wifes volvo they do and they don't ask, last time we picked up car they told us the software was updated lol... i imagine its extra work they can bill back to manufacturer since it's in the warranty or free maintenance period, is BMW the same??

lol that's what I was just asking, if the update ruins the ability to turn off ASS, then the best solution for now is not to update?
or, like you said, just configure sport mode to your liking and code it to start in sport...

its gross that we have to find all these work arounds, BMW should just leave the button and from factory be set to 'remember' . my wifes volvo came like that so no coding needed, just turn it off and it remembers lol...

At my dealer they’ve only updated the software when I either told them I was having a problem that could potentially be fixed by a software update (happened once) or when there was a recall or service bulletin that called for a software update (happened twice). Never a surprise update and the timing was up to me whether to do it then or put it off, so no different in that sense to the OTA updates.

The bimmercode app doesnt really work with aan G20 BMW 330 M edition.

I would really like to remove the annoying start stop function. Now i have to drive in sport + modus or in manual mode to get arround it but is highly annoying.

Can annybody help met with this issue. Pull a fuse, cute a wire brick the bimmercode asslong as it fixes this start stop function.

Best solution I've found is to set up Sport Individual to "comfort" on all 3 settings, then set the car to start in Sport Individual. Essentially, it's the same thing as starting in comfort mode without ASS.

TBH, I don't think she'd notice the difference if you set the suspension and transmission to comfort. Even the suspension in sport probably wouldn't register.

You're not losing any MPG by doing it this way, just a fancy way of disabling ASS.
